::Keeping your account and yourself safe on Zetapets::
Keeping yourself safe is one of the most important things you can do, especialy when you are online. While on zetapets, (or anywhere online, for that matter) it is a very wise thing to keep your personal information to yourself. Some general online safty rules are:
1.NEVER, EVER, EVER give out your REAL name, address, or phone number to ANYONE you meat online.
I can't stress this first point enough. You especialy don't want to do this in a chat, as then EVERYONE will be able to see who you are. No matter how much you think you can trust another person you meat online, YOU CAN'T. You don't know who they are. Its very easy to lie to another person online, so be very, very careful.
2.Be careful when giveing out your age or gender.
Its usualy OK to give out your age and sex online. However, you still need to be careful who you give this information to, as ANYONE can read it.
3.If anyone harasses you, report them!
If anyone on zetapets harasses you, make sure that you report them imediatly to a moderateor or an admin! Also, if they harass you in a zetamail, make sure you DO NOT delete it, as then you won't have any proof that someone was harassing you.
::Scamming avoidance advice::
1.NEVER, EVER, EVER give out your password to ANYONE, even if they say they are zetapets staff.
The zetatpets staff will NEVER ask someone for their password, no matter what anyone else says. They allredy have it in their databases, so why would they need you to give it to them again? They don't. People who want your passwords just want your ZP and items. Even if they say that they have a magic program that gives you a million zetapoints if you just give them your pass, don't do it! I gurantee you 100% of the time these people are lieing.
2.Beware of fake login pages and webpages that require you to give up your password!
I havn't seen any of these pages for zetapets yet, but they may still be out there. Be careful and watch the URL; If it asks for your password and it isn't a Zetapets.com page, then its a fake!
3.Shop raffels, Club donations, tradeing outside the swap center, and Beggers
Alot of these scams are just ways to get someone's hands on your ZP. Shop raffels are a way to get someone to buy overpriced items to "win" an item; but, no one ever wins it, as it is a scam. Most clubs, it seems, have a ligitamite club donation program, however some clubs just use their members to get zetapoints for the owner. Be careful and investigate before you give anything to your club. Also, NEVER trade anything outside the swap center, or else the person you are tradeing with may not give you your item. Beggers, who often say that their poor and need items, are not people that you need to give your ZP to. If you realy want to, go ahed, but it isn't recomended as you will not get anything in return.
