27/11/05 - The Return of Mexicola!
We haven't had any gigs recently you will have probabaly noticed which is a shame but nonetheless we have continued. In the last few weeks we have got our heads down and written a load of new songs....and we want to bring these new songs to the people so insead of waiting forever more for a gig we are putting on our own gig. But this is no normal gig it is 'Christmas with Mexi' a few weeks early.
On the Friday 9th of December we shall be playing all our new and some old material at Mark's house. It shall be halfway between acoustic and fully amplified so it will hopefully have a nice chilled out atmosphere to it all. We are planning on also providing food and hot drinks as some/all of the audience may be in the cold....but bring alcohol and friends too and remember its FREE! so all you have to do is get there. We want this to be a special night.
If you would like more details on the gig for example how to get to Mark's house...how many people you can bring etc....please email us at mexicolauk@hotmail.co.uk.
05/08/05 - We really don't update much do we?
Heyhey, sorry for the myserious dissappearance of us. Haha...Mexi wise not alot has happened. But finally we are back practicing after our exams. We have written new material in the last few weeks, we are going to record these songs hopefully for demo purposes..you may have noticed that we have already put 'Envy' up on MySpace. Hopefully we will get around to sending some demoes out and trying to get some more gigs.....talking of gigs we have one next Saturday...check the gigs section for details. Hopefully see you there. - Adam.
01/06/05 - It's been a while
Hey everyone. Sorry It's been a while since we have updated the site. Firstly thanks to those who came to the gig in Aldingbourne ages ago and thanks to SCOMP. We have also started writing new material, and even playing around with some older stuff...and finally we have another gig very soon at The Cave in Chichester. Unfortunately it is an 18+ gig, so no promises you can get in if you're not. Check the gig section for more details. - Adam
29/03/05 Mexicola's first headline gig!
SCOMP are putting on another gig to showcase some new bands and we are going to be a part of it by headlining! The gig is going to be held at Aldingbourne Social Club where SCOMP recently put on a gig including the likes of Nefarius and of course Uncle Blowfish. All the details are in the gig section! Also we have made some minor amendments to our profiles if you want to have look. - Adam
28/03/05 BotB New Pictures!!!
Pictures of the Havant BotB are now up for viewing pleasure so go check the pictures section, mix of Mexi in action and being our usual idotic selves! Thanks again for all those who came and hope you all enjoyed yourselves! - Mark
20/03/05 Batte of the Bands: The Review
Firstly thanks to everyone involved in sorting out BoB, it was worth it in the end after the worries of cancellation, and thanks to those who came along and supported us and to those who liked what we did, and thumbs up to all of the bands especially Play With Fire and The Chubs, both put on excellent sets. As for our set it all went well except for a couple of technical hiccups, and everyone was happy with the way 'Rose' came out, that was the first time we have played it live with piano and acoustic guitar so to have it win Best Song as well was great. We (well Mark) also won best hair! Twas an entertaining day and we can't wait for our next gig, which is not far off, keep checking the Gigs section for details - Adam
13/03/05 All round update
Hey everyone. Have a bit of news and reminders. Yesterday we filmed the video for 'Figument' for our friend, Becky's, media project, and it was very fun doing it, hopefully we will see the finished product. In other news we may have a few gigs lined up over the next few months, obviously we have Battle of the Bands this coming Saturday at Havant College, also we may be playing a summer all-dayer in Portsmouth, a gig with Fallen Sun in June and another in Bognor in April. But those are all still TBC. Anyway we hope to see you all at Battle of the Bands and thank you for the words of support for those who can't come. - Adam
01/03/05 My Space account
We now have a My Space account at www.myspace.com/mexicola Also we aren't recording the video Thursday (sorry about that). We are actually filming it March 12th. Anyways must shoot... - Adam
27/02/05 Video and recording
I mentioned a while back that we may be filming a video for 'Figument', well we are hopefully doing it this Thursday with our friend Becky for her project at Chichester College. Also we will be going back in the studio to record a couple of songs (probabaly songs that are not on the EP) for Pete's course the same day at Chichester College, so Thursday will be a fun filled day for us all. - Adam
26/02/05 Today's Practise!!
Today's Practise was very eventful indeed!! Another 2 songs were added to the Mexi discography and we spent most of the afternoon discussing the music and its relation to fairground rides!!!...crazy!!!! - Pete

06/01/05 Hello 2005!
Hope everyone had a great holiday. Nothing much has gone on Mexicola-wise over the Christmas period except we have been practicing alot, in fact we have another song written that we should play at Battle of the Bands, called 'Life is a Disco'. It's very interesting to say the least, but that'll probabaly be it for songwriting for a while we are going to concentrate on finishing the CD and making our songs alot stronger for live shows. By the way Battle of the Bands is Friday 26th February and we are looking forward to more people hearing our music, we'll also hopefully have the CD done by then, but it may be difficult to get finished as soon as we thought as some of us (me) are very busy, especially with college exams etc... but I do promise 'Ambidextrous Unisex' will be coming to a person near you within the next couple of months, sorry for the inconvinience, usual programming will continue shortly... - Adam
26/12/04 Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Hi all! Just hope everyone had a good Christmas Day and got everything they asked Father Christmas for. We wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year too! Hopefully it will be prosperous for Mexicola too as we should hopefully have finished our CD by late January/early February and have it available before Havant College Battle of the Bands in late February. - Adam
18/12/04 ...and down again.
Well we thought we were supporting Uncle Blowfish on Monday, but we have just had news that an even worthier band has been chosen to fill the slot, Hostile Super Heroes. We wish them and Uncle Blowfish good luck and sorry to those who thought we were going to play. - Adam
