Destructive Haunting (Poltergeists)
Poltergeists seem to happen during an emotional period in a house hold and center around females reaching puberty, it is almost like a spirit is drawn to the energy of the young individual and uses it to manifest itself. They start of as strange animal like scratching noises and can go on the full blown voices and moving of heavy objects. They can be very frightening, but that is what they want as they feed of your fear, but it is very rare for anyone to get hurt. Even when an object is thrown at you the object loses momentum at the last second and causes no harm.
Poltergeists usually respond badly to exorcism and do not like to be seen directly, they follow no hard and fast rules and tend to leave as quickly as they arrive.
Poltergeist (from German poltern and Geist, "noisy ghost", "spirit", or "embodiment") denotes a spirit or ghost that manifests itself by moving and influencing objects.
Reports of poltergeist activity typically feature raps, bumps, thumps, knocks, footsteps, and bed shaking, all without a discernible point of origin or physical reason for occurrence. Many accounts also report objects being thrown about the room, furniture being moved, and even people being levitated. Though rare, a few reported poltergeists have been purported to speak, including the The Bell Witch in 1817 and Gef the Talking Mongoose in 1931.
