art of reborning
Doll reborning is the very
special art of creating 'real' babies from vinyl doll kits or anatomically
correct play dolls. When created with patience, attention to detail and love,
the results this art brings are babies that look real, feel real and even smell

Painting with genesis paints
Genesis heat set paints are a just
amazing for creating life like baby skin. These paints are applied as a wash in
very transparent layers over many days to create the illusion of real skin.
Each layer of paint is Heat set and cooled before the next is applied. The
result is permanent non fading, non wearing paint the will last as long as the
baby is treasured and can be, passed down for many generations to come .With
Genesis paints baby can have any skin tone or colors and realistic features can
be added such as baby scratches, birth marks, sucking blisters, milk spots and
baby rash.
Rooting Hair
ROOTING THE HAIR IS THE MOST TIME CONSUMING PART OF
REBORNING.
I use only the best quality mohair rooting only 1 to
2 hairs at a time.
The hair is then sealed with waterproof glue inside the head
so you can style and dampen you reborn.
My reborns then have eyelashes micro rooted in the same colors
as their hair.
Nails
and lips
The nails are hand painted and many coats of clear gloss
varnish is applied to stop chipping, peeling and discolor.
The same applies with the lips.
Body
and fillings
The limbs are weighted with tiny glass beads and fiber fill
then sealed.
The head is weighted either with tiny steel shot or glass
beads in a separate cloth pouch so no spillage will occur inside there heads.
Then it’s filled with fiberfill and sealed also.
The bodies have a large pouch of tiny steel shot to give the
feel and weight of a newborn baby. I always use the best quality products Sand
is never used on my reborns
