June 3, 2009
Dear Friends and Family,
We are officially in Boot Camp mode here at Teen Missions. I have finished finals (woo hoo!!), I move into a tent this afternoon, and my Peanuts arrive on Saturday. I can't believer how it's all flown so fast! It feels like only yesterday that I began my studies at BMW and now here I am, about to commission for my internship!
Concerning my teams, my Peanut Tee Pee Camp Sidewalk Team starts on Saturday and goes until the following Monday. We have 11 kids registered so far, all between the ages of 7 & 9. My Teen arrive on June 20; I have 18 kids and I am leading with the staff couple from Malawi, Matt & Heni Wylie. On July 5th, I will be commissioned as a student my two years of schooling are done!! That night, my team will be commissioned and fly to Malawi to visit different AIDS Orphans Rescue Units to wash the children's feet and give them shoes and socks.
I finally had 'the talk' with the director about what I will be doing in Malawi for the next year. I am going with a one-year volunteer and we will be living and working together. We will be living at the House of Peace AIDS Orphans Rescue Unit located in Ndowa, Malawi. Our work will consist of taking care of the animals, growing crops, and working with the children (as well as learning to facilitate the Unit). Every 8 weeks we will go to Chipoka to the Teen Missions Malawi base for a refresher. We will also help run the Malawi Boot Camp and lead a Malawian team in December. Laurissa (the one year volunteer) will go home in May and I will then move to the Malawi Base and work there for a month before returning to the states. I will then work the US Boot Camp and possibly lead another team until my commitment as an intern is completed in August. And then, before you know it, I will be on my way back to New Jersey!
In Ndowa, the are a couple hundred kids registered at the AIDS Orphans Rescue Unit. We will be living with a Malawian staff couple in a small house. There is no running water or electricity at the Unit. Thankfully, we will have a motorbike so we can go into town. Ndowa is in the mountains so the climate will be cold (but never lower than 32) great! The New Jersey gal has been missing her cold weather here in hot and humid Florida!!
Due the the remote location of the Rescue Unit, contact will be very minimal. This may very well be one of the few letters you receive from me, though my mother is going to continue to send updates on my behalf. I will write to her and she will then type my letter and send it to everyone. I will do my best to keep everyone posted as to how I am doing and what God is doing in my life and in Malawi. If anyone would like to contact me, snail mail would be the best option.

I truly appreciate all of your faithful support and prayers. It is such a blessing to know that you have been behind me through all of the work that God has called me to do and I know He is faithful and will be doing great things this upcoming year. I ask that you will join me in this undertaking. Please keep my two teams in prayer. Pray for finances to come in, safety and health, openness to the Lord's teaching, and willingness to hear Him. Also pray for the people in Malawi that their ears will be opened to the Word of the Lord and their hearts open to be touched by Him. Pray that the Gospel will be shared and that many lives will be saved through the power of Christ. To God be the glory!!
Once again, I thank you all so much for everything. I am so blessed to have you joining me in this ministry. Take care and God Bless!
Serving God, Allie Kozlowski
And then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I; send me!” - Isaiah 6:8
