WANNA BE FIRST TO KNOW?

 

What a winter it was that we just went through.  Snow, snow and more snow.  And with that, cancellations and postponements of contests.  Is the game on?  Has it been cancelled?  Was it rescheduled?  If so, when will it be played?  With the improvement in technology, comes an improvement in communication.  All right at your fingertips if you have access to the internet.

 

Some Allegan Tiger fans, athletes and coaches, knew the answers to the above questions almost as soon as the decisions were made.  They had signed up to receive an e-mail telling them of whatever schedule changes had been made.  So how do you get to be in the know?  Read on and follow these simple steps:

 

1.  Go to the Allegan Public Schools website  (www.alleganpublicschools.org)

2.  On the left side of that page, click on “Sports” which will take you to the Athletic Department’s page

3.  On the left under the Allegan logo, click on “Sports Schedules & Results”.  That will take you to the Allegan link at High School Sports. Com. 

4.  Above the heading “Allegan Public Schools”, click on “Register”

5.  Scroll down and complete the questions.  When you’ve done so, you will be taken to “Account Manager” page.

6.  Click on “Add More Teams” 

7.  You will then be asked to “Pick My School” first by going to “Michigan” on the drop box, then to “Allegan Public Schools”.

8.  Now you are ready to select the teams you would like to receive notifications for by going to the drop box and identify those teams.  Click on “Add This Sport To My List” and you’ll receive an e-mail anytime there is a change during the season.  You many sign up for as many or as few as you want.  (If you check the box below, you will be signed up for all teams that we have.  You probably don’t want to do that.)  Also, at any time you may “Unsubscribe” to an team that you have selected.

 

NOTE:  We do not use multiple teams for scheduling.  If you would like to receive notifications about changes with our varsity and JV baseball scheduled, DO NOT sign up for “Baseball JV/Varsity Boys”.  Instead sign up for each team, “Baseball JV Boys” and “Baseball Varsity Boys”.  If there is any doubt on which team to sign up for, click the sports link (e.g., Baseball) on the Athletic Department’s homepage and you will see what the team “titles” are that we are using.

You can check upcoming season schedules anytime you want by going to the Athletic Department’s website.  You will not receive change notifications of any team until just before a season begins.  I will first send out an e-mail notice right before the season begins letting you know that for all intents and purposes, the schedule is pretty much set.  After you have received that notification, you will receive e-mails letting you know if any changes occur.

 

Already this spring, we have had several changes in the schedules due to our wonderful Michigan weather.  Some people knew almost as soon as the change was finalized.  Join that group and be informed right away.
