Monday + Wednesday - Aqua Aerobics begin Monday, February 11 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Monday + Wednesday - Adult Learn to Swim classes begin Monday, February 25.

Tuesday + Thursday - ˝ + ˝  Water Aerobics starting Tuesday, February 26.

Arthritis and Back Exercise classes begin Tuesday, February 26. 

Monday + Wednesday - Children’s Learn to Swim classes begin Monday, February 25  Beginning levels (1-3) 6:00 p.m., advanced levels (4,5) 6:30 p.m.

Physical Therapy Innovations begin Monday, February 18. 

ALL SATURDAY CLASSES begin February 16 (Adult Learn to Swim, Parent and Tot, Children’s Lessons)

The Albany Pool Staff

Located at 1311 Portland Ave between Albany High School and Memorial Park, the Albany Pool is one of the Bay Area's finest indoor pools. It is 100 feet long by 40 feet wide, 3.5 to 10 feet in depth, and accommodates six swimming lanes. The water temperature is maintained at 84 degrees. Albany Pool is located two blocks from AC Transit Line #18. All of the staff members at Albany Pool look forward to sharing our exceptional facility with you and your family. Come swimming soon and often!

Registration Information for Winter/Spring 2008

MAIL-IN registration for Children's Classes must be postmarked Monday, December 24th or later.

WALK-IN registration for CHILDREN’S LESSONS will be accepted at the pool beginning Monday, DECEMBER 31, 2007.

Mail – In registration received without a postmark or postmarked before the above date will not be accepted.

Please send fee by check with the registration form to: Albany Pool Registration, 1311 Portland Ave, Albany, CA 94706. Make checks payable to "Albany Schools”. Please enclose a self-addressed envelope with your registration so your receipt can be mailed to you. Please bring your receipt to the first class meeting.

WALK-IN registration for Adult Classes (including Parents + Tots) will be accepted at the pool beginning Monday, DECEMBER 31, 2007.

All fees must be paid at the time of registration. We cannot reserve space in a class without payment. Registering for upcoming sessions before the first class meeting avoids delays for you and other patrons. Class enrollment limits are determined by staff availability and safety concerns.

Other Important Information

  • WE ARE UNABLE TO GIVE REFUNDS! Classes missed due to illness may be made up in the same session if space is available. Please call the pool in advance to make arrangements.


  • All patrons must record any medical condition with the pool staff when registering for classes or using the pool for swimming. Medical forms are required for participation in adult classes.


  • All swimmers must provide their own bathing suits, caps, and towels. Bathing caps are required for all swimmers whose hair reaches the earlobes or hangs down the back of the neck. Bathing caps, goggles, nose and ear plugs are for sale at the pool.


  • Please review all pool rules (which are posted in the front lobby & on the pool deck) before using the facility.


  • Guests will refrain from displays of affection not appropriate in a public, family setting.


  • Albany Pool is not responsible for valuables or personal belongings left unattended.


  • In accordance with state law, you must be in at least 7th grade to participate in adult classes.


  • Albany Pool programs are available to all. If you need special assistance please let us know.  Patrons may be required to provide an attendant to accompany them in the water, assist in changing, and help with wheelchair transfers. Attendants are not charged admission fee.


  • Participants must pay separately for each program attended.
