THE ALBANY POOL IS CLOSED FOR DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION OF OUR NEW AQUATIC FACILITY.

We anticipate reopening in +/- 2 years.  Please check below for UPDATES on the progress of the the new aquatic facility.  You can also visit the "FACILITIES" Menu on the Albany Unified School District website for updates.

CERTAIN PROGRAMS CONTINUED AT KENNEDY POOL

While the Albany Pool is undergoing construction, Albany Adult School is offering swim classes at Kennedy Swim Center. The following classes are available: Aquatic Back Care, Aquatic Arthritis Care, Adult Learn-to-Swim Lessons (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced), and Water Safe Child (Parent & Tot).

Registration
All registrations, questions, and concerns must be made with the Albany Adult School.  Register online at http://www.albany.k12.ca.us/adult/physical.html

Do not register at the Kennedy Swim Center.

Canceled Classes (Not Courses)
Because we do not own or operate the Kennedy Swim Center, if a class (one day, not an entire course) is canceled (due to instructor illness or otherwise), we do not have the resources to reschedule a make-up date, and that one class will be lost. We apologize for this inconvenience.

The Albany Pool Staff

Located at 1311 Portland Ave between Albany High School and Memorial Park, the Albany Pool is one of the Bay Area's finest indoor pools. It is 100 feet long by 40 feet wide, 3.5 to 10 feet in depth, and accommodates six swimming lanes. The water temperature is maintained at 84 degrees. Albany Pool is located two blocks from AC Transit Line #18. All of the staff members at Albany Pool look forward to sharing our exceptional facility with you and your family. Come swimming soon and often!

Other Important Information

  • WE ARE UNABLE TO GIVE REFUNDS! Classes missed due to illness may be made up in the same session if space is available. Please call the pool in advance to make arrangements.


  • All patrons must record any medical condition with the pool staff when registering for classes or using the pool for swimming. Medical forms are required for participation in adult classes.


  • All swimmers must provide their own bathing suits, caps, and towels. Bathing caps are required for all swimmers whose hair reaches the earlobes or hangs down the back of the neck. Bathing caps, goggles, nose and ear plugs are for sale at the pool.


  • Please review all pool rules (which are posted in the front lobby & on the pool deck) before using the facility.


  • Guests will refrain from displays of affection not appropriate in a public, family setting.


  • Albany Pool is not responsible for valuables or personal belongings left unattended.


  • In accordance with state law, you must be in at least 7th grade to participate in adult classes.


  • Albany Pool programs are available to all. If you need special assistance please let us know.  Patrons may be required to provide an attendant to accompany them in the water, assist in changing, and help with wheelchair transfers. Attendants are not charged admission fee.


  • Participants must pay separately for each program attended.
