When purchasing a cage for your ferret. It should be spacious, roughly 3feetwide by 2feet high. Depending on how many ferrets you are going to have should determine the size. Make sure that you provide a minimum of 2beds for your fuzzy to sleep in, obviously if you have more ferrets you should consider more beds. DO NOT use cedar this can cause respitory problems for your ferret. There are many ferret safe shavings you can purchase at any pet store or online. Old shirts/towels work as wonderful cage lining as well.In my opinion a corner litter box is best to keep in the cage because it takes up less space then a full pan and your ferrets will use the corners anyway, ofcourse you can always opt to purchase a full pan. You will have to provide a water bottle and food dish. You will probabally want to get food dish locks so that your ferret can not tip over his food. Keep lots of toys available to your fuzzy/fuzzies to play with when they are in their cage. Often try and rotate toys in their cage and rearrange their cage as well this helps to prevent them from getting cage stress.
