Techno Signiture Tutorial

The Gimp

Here is a easy techno sig tutorial for beginners!

First, open a new document, say 400 x 100

Next, go to the gradient section and pick "Metal Something"

Then choose the gradient tool. Click and hold the tool from the left side of the image to the right. You should get something like this.

Now well put a neon flare into it... Say the cyan one... so go to the gradients menu and choose "Neon Cyan"

Now click and drag the gradient tool. I placed the first crosshair at the center left, and ended in the far center right. Like so.

I planned for it to go here... the yellow dosen't really go with the metal/techno theme.

This is what I got.

Next, create a new TRASNPARENT layer (Layer>New Layer). Your Layer window should look like this.

Now the border part. Make sure the transparent layer is selected. Now choose this brush.

And This Color (foreground color)

Now go to View>Snap To Grid and draw a border around the top, it should look something like this...

Now make sure that the transparent layer is selected and go to Filters>Distorst>Emboss. You can play around with the settings, but I left them the same. Or go here to learn how to make it look like "Brushed Metal".

Add text and save!!

Her is something i came up with. The text isn't to fancy, but I had to do homework :(

Here is one I did, but Bump Mapped the transparent layer first, then embossed it. I think it looks better.
