One easy way to begin to feel at home is to connect with others who enjoy the same things you do.  Promoting our members special interests is the heartbeat of the Alexandria Area Newcomers Club.

You can get involved in three ways:

  • Special Interest Group – Get into a fun routine!  These small groups meet at regular preset times each month.  At each general membership meeting you can review our wide inventory of groups.  Some are daytime, many evening.  Some are for couples, some involve kids.  Some are activities, many are hobbies.  It is easy.  Sign up on a group’s roster to be contacted by the Group Chair.  Check out their next meeting.  Never an obligation to join.  It is entirely up to you.
  • Special Interest Event – Seize the moment!  These small groups are occasional, spontaneous and seasonal.  Members sign up to be electronically notified for an upcoming outing or activity.  Events are wide open for announcement by anyone on the Distribution List.  It is one big group RSVP.  Whoever shows up enjoys the fun.
  • Become a Group Chair – Have a good idea?  Any member can host and lead a new group or event.  Our Club reflects the current interests of our membership.  Contact the Special Interest Board Chair to put your group into the club inventory and begin to fill your roster. Some of our existing groups include:
