The stock '75 V8 exhaust system uses a 2 1 4/4 ID Y-pipe connected to a single catalytic converter then to a muffler under the rear seat and out the back.It didn't come with a resonator like other years because the converter quiets it down a bit.
Heres how it sounded*But with a hollowed converter and a worn stock muffler...not bad
What i did was use some of the original pipe but modified it to a true 2" dual system with a couple of 40 series Flowmasters i got off a Junked 96 T-bird.It sounded great, a bit quiet for my taste, but great for a daily driver.

Heres how they sounded* I had them sitting on blocks at this point so you can hear them rattling around.
The whole system(including mufflers) cost me under $60, I Fabricated them with the help of my uncle Roger and welded them up at home with my Lincoln MIG, a similar system cost about $200 in just labor alone at exhaust shops here in so-cal, add in the price of new mufflers and pipe and it can reach up to $500.
My next system will be a dual 2 1/4 with H pipe and Flowtech #12000 1 5/8 Headers or Hooker #6901 and will exit at the rear under the valence around the leaf springs.
