Montreal-born actress Alex Appel can credit her success in the entertainment industry to roles on tv shows such as Odyssey 5, Once a Thief, The Newsroom, Little Mosque on the Praire, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, and a recurring role on Catwalk. One of her favourite parts was playing Jessica Poole in the series Beware of Dog. However, Alex's career really took off in 2005 when she landed the role of FBI Agent Janey Cooper in the Lifetime drama Missing.

In addition to TV and commercial spots, her film credits include parts in The Brady Bunch in The White House,The Life Before This With Catherine O'Hara and Stephen Rea; Tom DiCillo's The Real Blonde, with Cathrine Keener and Dennis Leary; and Getting Away with Murder with Dan Aykroyd and Lili Tomlin.

Appel also has an impressive track record as a filmmaker. Co-founder of Canada's Toothin Theatre, she has won numerous international awards for her work as a producer and director. Works include a PSA, music video and a short film Good Stuff, which she wrote, directed and starred in. Appel played the title role in Toothin Theatre's first feature film The Death of Alice Blue which enterted the film festival circuit in 2008.
