Note: The information on these sites is not necessarily entirely accurate.  I don't include sites that contain what I consider to be blatant untruths, but since there is a great deal of uncertainty surrounding Alexander, I do include some that I disagree with or that say things I'm uncertain of.  So, I would like to remind everyone that you can't believe everything you hear (or, as the case may be, read.)

Bibliography

Note: These aren't all books that I personally have read and am recommending, some of them are just books that I've heard of it.  So please, if you read them and hate them, don't blame me!  Also, if you have a suggestion for a book to put on here, feel free to contact me!  (There's a note on the Offerings page about how to do that.)

Thanks

The Shrine would like to thank:

The Alexander the Great group on AncientWorlds, the first place I ever found where I could talk a lot about Alexander and people would actually know what I was talking about;

Mary Renault, who wrote the first book I ever read about Alexander and thus got me interested in him;

Peter Green, who wrote the first non-fiction book I ever read about Alexander, and thus made it so that I actually knew some facts instead of just what it said in Fire from Heaven;

Sky, who was my only friend who was actually enthusiastic about the Alexander Shrine when I thought it up (although, to be fair, I do have friends who I haven't technically shown the Alexander Shrine to, and I think some of them would be enthusiastic);

Anyone who's ever helped people learn more about Alexander;

Anyone who's ever talked with me about Alexander, including those who argue because getting angry over it just makes me more enthusiastic;

Alexander himself, of course, who was an awesome enough guy to warrant my liking him a lot and making this Shrine;

Alexander's friends, especially Hephaestion;

and, everyone who I failed to thank here but who nevertheless deserves to be thanked.
