That's it, it's all over.....

A huge thank you to all that could make it, we really hoped you enjoyed your Italian experience and to those that couldn't, thanks for your thoughts and kind wishes and we're sorry you missed a hec of a party!
Thanks for all the presents and contributions, your generosity has been quite overwhelming.

The photos of the big day are now live on the Wedding Photos page (thanks to Alan, Andy, Louise and David for their contributions).

We've also compiled a short video below, thanks again....

Welcome to our wed site !

(Which incidentally has also doubled up as a Barga visitor guide!)

You are invited to the wedding of Dorothea and Ale near Barga in Tuscany on Saturday 26th of April 2008.
(The date is twice as special as it's also Dee's birthday - one date less for me to remember, hurrah !)

Venue: San Nicoḷ church, Castelvecchio Pascoli, Near Barga, Italy. 3pm.

Reception: Il Ciocco, 6pm

Hello folks, thanks for taking the time to come to our site.

Ok, I admit it's a little corny, but we hope very practical, especially for those of you planning a trip to Barga for the first time.

The official wedding invitations will be posted out in January 2008, but we understand that a number of you will be making a holiday out of it, so we hope this guide will allow you ample time to make the necessary arrangements and plan ahead.

Essentially the purpose of this website is to act as an easy guide to getting to Barga, including flight options, directions to the Church, with a few of our personal recommendations for accomodation and restaurants thrown in. Given the area is so remote and in view of limited public transport I'd recommend hiring a car, but we can always make the transport arrangements for you if required.

The montage below will give you a little taster of the area in and around Barga (even though I have absolutely no idea who the people in it are).

Dee and I are really excited at the prospect of seeing you over for the wedding, and as I am constantly reminded, it's not long now (come to think of it, that countdown clock on the top of the page appears to be going very fast).

If you have any questions or queries, please, please, please contact us, we'd be happy to help.

We hope you all enjoy your time, and take home some fond memories.

Thanks, Grazie, Dziekuje, Tak and Merci,

Dee and Ale xx

PS given the distances involved we felt that the wedding and reception should be predominantly for adults. However, this is not exclusive and of course we'd be only too happy to discuss the matter. If you have any queries, then please get in touch. Thank you for your understanding.

PPS Though our wish list is now fully active, please, please, please do not feel obliged to contribute, we'll toast your good health and friendship with a future holiday anyway!
