Keith Alderson started playing the cornet at junior school for a brief spell before moving on to tenor horn. In grammar school he began playing french horn and joined the Doncaster Youth Jazz Orchestra.


After leaving school with A-levels in Music, Engineering and Woodwork he embarked on a 3 year course at Newark College where he achieved a Diploma in woodwind repair and also learnt to play all of the woodwind family of instruments.

In 1984 he began working as a repairer for Dawkes in Maidenhead, where he further developed his skill and learned brass instrument repairs.


Keith has now been in the trade for over 22 years and runs his own successful repair business in Doncaster (established 1989) offering repairs and servicing to local authorities, music shops and the general public around the UK.

He is a professional member of the National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers (NAMIR).
