What's New?

Tonight (Monday 30 July) we competed in the Gospel Duet or Group event in the Macdonald's Performing Arts Challenge....

...and we WON!  

$500 plus a SHIELD = thanks to the Sydney Cultural Council.

We're very excited to have one.  This category had the most varied entries of any event ever seen...  including a sexy female duet who sang "Son of a Preacher Man"  which was an interesting choice of song;  nevertheless, these girls in jade green came second.  Two other girl groovers came third.  Well done.  In 2006 we came second in this event.

ALCHEMY A CAPPELLA had the crowd clapping and grooving with LEAN ON ME and OPERATOR, both arranged (with permission) by Ronelle Knowles.

UPCOMING GIG

Our next gig is FRIDAY 14 SEPTEMBER - in Helensburgh near Wollongong at the Holy Cross Church
Sacred Music Festival, raising money for India.

On June 16 2007 Alchemy competed in the McDonald's Performing Arts Challenge, in the Community Choir event.  We came 3rd and were competing against 5 different choirs, with entirely different repertoires and styles.  We were extremely happy with this result!

Alchemy performs a variety of songs for many occasions... concerts, weddings, festivals, afternoon teas.

Songs in our repertoire include Lean On Me, Operator, I Can See Clearly Now, Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, Caravan of Love... and old gospel favourites, such as Hallelujah (Jesus' Loves Bubbles Over), Precious Lord, Joshua and Walk in the Light.

performs mainly for charity events, and charges very reasonable, negotiable rates to paying clients.
