CONCERTO IN G MINOR
By Albert Williams
Seated squarely in an ecstatic trance , man and instrument become one, entwined.
An extension of his mind
This melodic piano…back straight and tall, fingers curled as if holding a tennis ball.
Poised ready to stab and dart the 88 black and white ebony keys.
Now with indrawn breath…a generous drop of postulation, a fair dash of musical determination
The solo performance begins in earnest.
Fingers dance, ivory bob up and down hammering acoustic strings beneath a raised lid.
Slowly at first, a dainty arpeggio. Now faster and faster…a frenzied crescendo, higher and higher in a whole steps and half steps in bluesy progressions.
Sustain peddle depressed .. A wailing chord wails through the auditorium.
Left hand and right hand share the clefts…Now the music intensifies and with a flurry of staccato notes goes on and on through the night…
