Well I seem to be blogging once a month rather than weekly now! Maybe I'll try and blog more frequently.Hmmm I think I'll carry on a bit from the last written entry. So viewing the Thérèse film in London is going ahead at Westminster Cathedral. It'll be on St. John of the Cross' feast day. The details are on the home page of my other site: http://www.freewebs.com/littlethereseIt's open for anyone to come along to so if you fancy it, you can.Besides that... I may still move up to Leeds for the Xt3 job. After talking and having insecurities and questions settled, it all seems pretty cool. Going to go for the interview when I get the date.Other than that, I hope to do some voluntary work in the mean time and will keep searching for jobs.Lately I've done a fair bit of traveling around. I was away for most weekends and for some weekdays last month. This weekend I'm away again to check that the equipment for viewing that film will work. The Sister I'm organizing it with is outside London and others want to view the film up there too.Anyway, spiritual life is good. Received a lot of graces from God when I was at the Carmel in Notting Hill. Was also enrolled in the brown scapular a few days afterwards (please Google it if you wanna know what it is).Prayer life is good. Hmmm... What else? May be back at the Carmel soon... Well I hope so anyway. And me and some newish friends have decided to go on pilgrimage to Lisieux next year, including a girl I met at the Carmel who is joining the convent next year. So I guess that's a bit of a jist of what's been going on recently!Good stuff. Ciao for now and God Bless X
Happy Feast Day everyone! She's one of 3 female doctors of the church and if you're in a pickle about prayer, she's a good one to consult. Her books are about prayer and the interior life with God. She also struggled with prayer in her early life. Here's some info about her life: http://www.karmel.at/eng/teresa.htmAnd here is a great book she wrote (readable online):http://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/tic/index.htm
Hi there!
Well once again I haven't posted in while. Things have been a little mad but I think I'll just talk about current things rather than backtracking.
At the moment, I may or may not be working for the company Xt3 and moving up North. Awaiting an interview date and they are going though lots of changes as a company so that makes things quite difficult and difficult for me because details keep changing... In the mean time though I'm back on Job Seeker's Allowence and looking for another job as a back up plan. Handing out CVs has been really good. There are quite a few jobs I am able to go for at the moment. That's always encouraging.
Apart from that, I've been having quite big faith difficulties lately (hense the previous post) and I'm still stuggling. Though I do have some things to look forward to this coming week that might help. From Friday to Monday I'm staying at the Carmelite Monastary in Notting Hill. A new novice is recieving the nun's habit and I am invited to the Mass after the private ceremony. I'm looking forward to it and was suprised to be invited. It's also the first time I've stayed at a Carmelite convent and its cool because I have a soft spot for Carmelites. It'll be good to see the Prioress and chat to her (we've kept in touch for months, but I haven't actually seen her since December last year when I visited the Carmel twice). I also know that the Sisters there have been praying for me since I visited. It'll be cool to meet them (I only know the prioress and met one other Sr briefly). It's also St. Therese's feast day on the 1st Oct and I'll get to celebrate it with the Carmelite Sisters. What better way to celebrate it (she was a Carmelite)? The feast day is not only significant because St. T is a fave Saint of mine but because it could be seen as my name day: the celebration of the Saint I was named after at my catholic baptism.

I'm also hoping to help arrange something so at least a few of us from the Xt3 Internet forum can view the film Therese. Looks like a good film and I know some of us are enthusiastic about seeing it. It requires a multi-regional DVD which none of us have so would be good if we can find one and view it together. Whether it be a few of us in someone's living room or a group of us in a room at westminster cathedral (would have to book the room and find a projector etc), I think we're determined enough to view it some way.
I also think I'll do something on this site for St. T's day before I go to the Carmel...
Here's hoping that my job fiasco gets sorted soon but I guess its all in God's timing anyway...
I also have something else to look forward to this week. I went away at the end of August to Walsingham for a Youth2000 retreat (which was pretty cool, though I did have my faith struggles back then too) and I met a friend called Therese (lol I know... Another Therese). We also saw eachother at the Youth2000 follow up event a few weeks ago. Hopefully I'll be seeing her this week when she comes down to London... She sees me as a little sister... Sweet :).
I'll be speaking to her later but before then I'll need to go to Mass... Hmmm to be honest I'm not really looking forward to it today. Oh well... Maybe I'll feel better when I get there.
Well bye for now and blessings,
Alanna X
