A Reflection: Resist and Fight-By all means! By all forms!
Globalization, the signing of the GATT-WTO, the anti-Terror campaign and other imperialist, expansionist and interventionist policies of the rich countries forced the government to enforce all of them through its programs that known as privatization, deregulation, liberalization. These LDP resulted to the increase of prices of the basic commodities, oil and petroleum products’ prices and fare; trade and budget deficit; import oriented and export dependent economy; termination and downsizing of the labor forces; cost-cutting of budgets, commercialization of education and all other social services; subcontracting, contractualization, militarization, the conversion of the agricultural land into commercial lands and industrial lands, the destruction in the guise of exploration of the environment, etc.. All of these worsen the peoples’ lives and all sectors are of no excuse.
The State is being used as an instrument exploitation and oppression to serve t6he interests of the ruling class and its foreign monopoly capitalist allies. The truth is that the government programs and policies have not been pro-peoples and pro-poor. Instead, it protects the interests of the oppressors form the local, national context up to the international arena. to note, “Progress should directly benefit the marginalized sector of the society.”
It is a challenge to the youth today, as the real heir and owner of this land.
Learning outside the school is another tool aside from learning within the four corners of the classroom in examining and analyzing the social condition. Being critical may not always tell us that we are always right but at least it develop in us the attitude and approaches free from arrogance, apathy and restricted freedom. Restricted in the sense that, the democracy we have today is designed by the oligarchs and aristocrats that will always serve the interests of the few. A democracy of the few, for the few and for the few. A sort of a government OFF the people, POOR the people and BUY the people.
Of course it is not enough just to know philosophies and ideologies, we should have this open-ended blue print that is in touch with the contemporary social condition, from which proper actions and responses can be derived.
The youth are now taking their part, yet, still so many things to be done… and all sectors should march in unison to fight and resist all unjust, unfair and anti-people agreements and policies made by the government at all levels! By all means and by all forms!
Resist and Fight!
