Between the Worlds

Sekin and Hyrule

Symbols and Charts

This page is deicated to all symbols, charts, maps, blueprints, and pictures related to Between the Worlds. Zelda related items of such categories can be found here as well. There's a very Pagan/Wiccan theme in these as well. Obviously, since the religion of the Six Gods was inspired by it. There'll be notes about each image, explaining the backgrounds and meanings of the images and the parts they play in the story. Though, not all will be revealed here. Some things must be kept secret to protect plot twists and story surprises.

Maps and Blue Prints

This is my rough draft of the map of Iki, the only continent I have developed and drawn in Sekin. There's plenty of other continents out there, in Sekin. I just haven't gotten around to working on them yet. Though, I know they will be the lands that contain other mystical things and creatures not mentioned yet. Like the fairies of Sekin will belong to a different land across the sea. However, they may remain completely unimportant to the plot of Between the Worlds. So I might not develop them at all unless I find a reason for them to be required.

I need to redraw this thing, and then photoshop it. I've made several changes, different names, needs more small villages and cities scattered across Ranelu and Delusuu, and I'm thinking about changing the shape of the whole land mass. Maybe a bit more circular.

The title of the oceans and seas need major work, seeing as I would call it a sea when geographically, it's actually an ocean. See, I drew this when I didn't know the different between them. That alone tells you how old this thing is. I was probably 14 when I did this.

In fact, this map was original set up for a different fan fiction I had been working on before Between the Worlds. It was called Stone of Darkness or something. Not much different from the current first book, Empire of Darkness. I ditched SoD when I came with the better idea of EoD. Hyrule being taken over by dark elves was just so much more appealing. Though a lot of my ideas for characters and plot themes came from SoD. They were the beginning structure for it. Anyways, the map is still basically how Iki should look until I decide exactly how I want to reshape the thing.

I want to do the titles on the computer so that they can kool all nice and professional, instead of writing them in by hand. It'll make it easier to flow it into the image too. The Desert of Suu, that was actually named after me. Heh, see it's one of my change nicknames my sisters gave me. I can't even remember why I decided to use it for the name of the Delusuu desert. There it is again, in Delusuu. I must have been picking names and sounds at random. Most of these names are just ones I made up by playing with sounds and deciding which ones I liked the sound of.

See Lon Tuu Ranch, there? Such a rip off of Lon Lon Ranch from OoT. I'll be changing that to a larger city and rename it.

This is rather new and it shows. This is the living area of my main characters during EoD, located in the Gerudo's Fortress. Just in case anyone has ever wondered. I may have made some changes from what it says in the story. That's because I'm rewriting most of what I've already had posted for three years. I should probably make a legend for it, so that everyone can understand what the symbols mean on it. This is my first blue print ever so far. I was proud of it. However, it's extremely simple compared to Fornuez's blue prints. He is a Paint and Ultimate Paint GOD! I'm just not as good at these kinds of things, but I'm really satisfied with my simple blue prints. I don't really need to make it complex; it serves it's purpse.

Runes and Anceint Text

This is a special section for magical and literary symbols, like the symbols of Anicent Hylian for example. Runes serve as letters as well as magical tools. So they're lumped together in this section.

So we start with the ancient Runes of Sekin! These were used by an ancient and deceased society of humans. They were the only humans known for using magic so well. Humans in Sekin can use magic, even though it seems not as effectively as elves can. Elves are kind of better at everything than they are. This ancient society was extremely devoted to the Six Gods of Sekin, it was their main religion and their ways of living were built around it. Well, enough about that. The runecasters will be explained on a different page. What is important is that they believed that these letters and words were given to them by the Gods, and therefore they were considered a sacred and holy power.

They might look very familiar to some people. I didn't make these up on my own. All their meanings come from the Norse runes and mythology. I am simply using them for my story. So these are real runes and are used by many people and are truly considered magical. They're colored with the colors that the rune should govern over. I'll go into more detail sometime about what each rune means and what they can be used for magically in my story. I'm still developing them, so it may take a lot more time to get this section upated. They're kind of complex. I'll need to do some more research and gather creative ideas to complete them.

As stated before, they can also be used as letters to spell words. I'll provide the key to them another time as well. I use these to spell out the banner titles I use in character profiles, for the characters that are from Sekin. One will notice that all the banners from Sekin will be done in the colors of indigo and purple. Why these colors? Well, the royal family of the runecaster society took the surname of Ansur, which is also the name of a rune. So, Sekin's colors are the colors of that rune. Those colors will also show in some symbols later on.

At last, Anceint Hylian. I wasn't sure, but I simply guessed that they are in alphabetical order. Of course, the bottom row being numbers and punctuation. Pretty simple. So the banner titles for characters from Hyrule will be done in Ancient Hylian. I managed to find this on the internet somewhere, while I was hunting for symbols to use in Kai's tattoo. So far, banners and that tattoo have been the only places I'ved used it. Just on a whim, because I thought it would be fun, kool, and creative to do. I also wonder if I could figure out waht the Deku Tree in Winder Wakers says when he first sees Link. He spoke in Ancient Hylian so I wonder if I could use this to decipher it. Just because I'm that curious.

Sekin God and Goddess Symbols

Here are the basic symbols for the gods, which are closely tied to the elements. They're basic symbols that maybe you've seen around before. They're drenched in Wiccan and Pagan backgrounds. I said before, that my story in heavily influenced by Wiccan ideas and themes. Though, the first four symbols can also be found outside of Wicca and Paganism. They're also known in alchemy. The uses of these symbols in the story line will not yet be completely revealed. Consider this background information on the gods of Sekin.

Earth - Here we have the alchemic symbol for earth, which is feminine. In my story is the symbol for the Goddess of Earth, Daichi. She governs creativity, wisdom, fertility, and strength. Daichi is known as as the Mother Goddess. She is very nurturing and extremely protective of children. She symbolizes the body and material things. It is said that she can be found in the plains of Ranelu during a full moon. Often she appears as a beautiful woman with a large belly, bearing child. If a man or a woman should see this Daichi, it is a sign that they are fertile and ready to produce offspring. It's a very lucky sign should a pregnant woman see this Daichi, it is a sign that she will give birth to a healthy child.

She is practical and wise. Her knowledge is not of facts or logic, as Kasou's, the Wind God, is. Her knowledge is of bodily things, and wisdom that comes with age and experience. Not something that can be learned from reading books or writing. She can teach us how to survive off the earth, the times to plant, which plants will grow during certain seasons, medicine and other useful drugs, tricks and trades of motherhood, wisdom of pregancy.

Her time of day is always night with a full moon. She is often seen with or even takes the form of a bear, wolf, bison, or horse. In nature, she is the mountains and fields. It is said that she wears a pentacle on a necklace at her throat. Her colors are green and brown. Her zodiacal signs are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. Her dircetion is North. Daichi is a determined, strong, and stubborn goddess. Also known for her powers to give life.

Air - This is the alchemic symbol for air, which is masculine. I use it for the God of Wind, Kasou. His qualities consist of imagination, wonder, and music. He rules over the mind, truth, intelligence, logic, and justice. Kasou is known as the Hunter God.  What is he hunting for? Food, money, and woman, but not always in that order. Don't be mistaken that because he is a god of logic and mind that he is not a sexual creature. In nature, he rules over the wind. He's a provider of many things, mostly knowledge. So he is also a hunter for truth and justice.

He is the judgmental god, he weighs and analyzes people and things, without emotion. He is a problem-solver, usually done without much violence, but he is also known to be sought for advice in battle strategies. He is also known to be a trickster at times. Kasou can have a mischievous and childish behavior at times. However, it's always in good fun, and his spranks are always to remind us not to take ourselves or life too seriously. He is a teacher, and even while playing tricks on us, they always have some kind of lesson hidden within. Those who seek knowledge must seek Kasou, however, his greatest lesson to is that we cannot know everything.

His favorite time of day is dawn. He can be found anywhere at this time. Often seen with or in the form of birds and butterflies, and perhaps any other creature with wings. His colors are white, lavendar, and yellow. Kasou is often seen with a wand as a weapon, or often a bow, for he is a hunter. His zodiacal signs are Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra. His direction is East. Kasou is a very changeable god, it seems as if he has a hard time making up his mind. It changes and moves around like the wind.

Fire - This is the alchemic symbol for fire, which is also masculine. I use it for the God of Fire, Faia. His qualities consist of passion, courage, and determination. He rules over will power, war, battle, energy, and fire. Faia is known as the Warrior God. Fighters and warriors seek him out for victory in battle, for the power to overcome all obstacles and enemies. Kasou and Faia make a deadly foe should they team up together on the battle field. Truly, all would crumble under their might. The combination of strength and power with intelligence and logic creates an extremely hot and powerful flame that is continuously fueled by air.

Faia is proud and hot-headed. Normally, he acts upon his impulses without much thought. Kasou makes for his guide, to direct his energy in the right direction. However, Kasou will not always agree with Faia's choice in battle, so either the Wind God will not assist Faia, or he will go along and pull pranks on Faia until the impulsive flame finally dies, for Faia needs Kasou to survive. They are brothers and said to be close ones at that. Faia is full of power and energy, his endurance can be amazing especially when inspired by Kasou's air and imagination. Without Kasou's assistance, he will burn out very fast. He charges in without hesistation. He is said to fear nothing, but the truth is that courage requires fear to exist. Faia can fear, but often he only uses it as fuel and to excite him, feeding off it rather than letting it stop him. His fire burns and eats right through fear and any of its obstacles. When dealing with Faia, one must be careful not to get burned, because he can be rather unpredictable.

His time of day is midday, afternoon. In nature, he is the bright and hot sun in the sky. He is often seen with or in form of lions and dragons. His colors are red and orange. He is seen with almost any kind of weapon, but his signature weapon of choice is a sword of some kind. His zodiacal signs are Leo, Aries, and Sagittarius. Faia is a guiding light to all those who are lost or stuck in darkness and fear or any other obstacles that may inhibit a person from continuing to move forward in their lives. He is a symbol of inspiration and confidence. He offers warmth, strength, and kindness to the weak and cold. Faia has a very soft side, despite being hot-headed and powerful in the battle field. He is extremely protective. Most of the time, he battles to protect something or someone that is important to him.

Water - This is the alchemic symbol for water, which is feminine like Earth. I use it for the Goddess of Water, Nasake.
