Between the Worlds

There will be three or four books: one prequel and one or maybe two sequels. The Legend of Zelda: Empire of Darkness is the very first book, A Link Between Worlds is the prequel to Empire of Darkness, and Forbidden Fruit is the sequel to Empire of Darkness and co-authored with Fornuez. There is a possibility of a fourth book, a sequel to Forbidden Fruit.

This is a fantasy series and fanfiction for it is connected to the Legend of Zelda series. It involves three completely separate worlds and the people in it. Seemingly normal elves, hylians, humans, and hybrids, the people of these worlds, get tossed into huge plots of gods, angels, and dark lords. Somehow the fate of these worlds get placed in their hands. These books are about what can motivate the seemingly normal to do amazing feats, such as saving worlds. What is it about these people that motivates them to succeed or ... perhaps what do they lack that leads them to failure?

One might wonder why the title of this book says "The Legend of Zelda" instead of "Between the Worlds." Offically, the full title is "Between the Worlds: The Legend of Zelda: Empire of Darkness." Why such the long title, you ask? Because this book is the source of connection to the world of Hyrule. Its setting in completely and stabely in Hyrule. It's the book that transitions the two games "Ocarina of Time" and "Majora's Mask" into my series. All of the other Legend of Zelda games do not matter to this series. Summaries of both storylines can be found in My Worlds: The World of Hyrule. So, I chose for "The Legend of Zelda" to still be part of the title for book one.

EoD is the sequel to "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" which is the sequel to "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time." Link could be called the main character of this book. Though, there are several main characters, and they all are going through painful changes and realizations about themselevs and their pasts and each other. This book is about maturing, self-awareness, reflection, and surviving the pains of our lives present and pasts and even the fear of the future. While all the main characters are experiencing this, Link is as well. This is about Link growing up after being so emotionally stunted by being raised by the Kokiri, eternal children. It concentrates on the experience of the hero learning that he cannot save everyone and that it was not his fault that he can't and could not. Each character has their own story to tell and lessons to be learned and morals to contribute to the story.

Currently, I'm attempting to rewrite all these chapters before I continue writing new chapters. Why? Because I first wrote these three years ago and my writing has changed dramatically since. This is old writing full of plot holes, out of character behavior, and just crappy novice writing. 

So until I can rewrite them, here are my original chapters. I have 18 so far and links will be provided for each chapter for both sites that they are posted on. It's too big to post here, so you can find it on the Zelda Universe forums and fanfiction.net.
