HE FELT THE NAILS!

He Felt The Nails

For the courage He had in speaking out,
Saying, "This is where your system fails:
It puts the law ahead of love,"
He felt the nails.

For listening to a different drummer
And choosing to follow unblazed trails
In a time and place that loved tradition,
He felt the nails.

For loving crooked politicians,
Painted ladies, and those in jails;
For respect He showed to women and lepers,
He felt the nails.

When we choose being popular
And hide behind our "holy veils"
Safe from the task of righting wrongs,
We Drive The Nails!

No Apologies Necessary
&
No Apologies Coming
!!!

Because I've, from the time that I was little, committed my life to serving Jesus, I make no apologies that this is a page where He is Number One!!!

However, that doesn't mean that I believe that the rest of the world is going to hell in a handbasket nor does it mean that I believe that there's nothing to learn from the beliefs of others who don't share my own.

When it comes to how I might greet people during the month of December, I see nothing wrong with saying "Happy Holidays!" or "Season's Greetings!" and do use those phrases.  However, I also use freely and without apology that "politically-incorrect" greeting of:

Merry Christmas
!!!

so
Deal with it
!!!

Having said that, this is going to be a page of learning how to get along and not kill each other in spite of differences we might have when it comes to religious beliefs--not to mention differences we have due to other considerations such as race, class, nationality, etc.

Personally, I'm not an "anything goes" kind of person.  There are some things--disagree with me or not--that are just plain wrong.  For instance, in my eyes, the death penalty is wrong.  So are euthanasia, suicide, murder, bullying/meanspiritedness, racism, unnecessary/greed-powered eminent domain, getting drunk, getting stoned, being so "politically correct" that you end up taking away more freedoms than you give, plus a list of many other things.

There are also things that are very right in my eyes, and I love to promote and glorify those things.

Even though the late, great John Lennon asks us to imagine that there's no Heaven as part of his wonderful song, Imagine, I don't find that to be blasphemous, because he isn't, in my opinion, trying to promote atheism or to make fun of believers.

Instead, he is challenging us to celebrate our lives, moment-by-moment as if this were all that there was and today was all that we had.

If we were to do this, there would be no time to be at war with each other over our differences.

Think about it...IMAGINE...
