How Jessica Became Daisy

Her personal trainer reveals the diet and excercise secrets that made her look that good!

Jessica Simpson

Jessica Simpson had some big shorts to fill in the role of Daisy Duke for her new movie, The Dukes of Hazzard. And by big, we mean small -- the iconic cutoffs were made famous by the original Daisy Duke, Catherine Bach, who wore the heck out of 'em back in the day. They've been a fashion staple ever since. Clearly Jessica had to make them look good. Really good. Watch Jessica, Johnny and Sean explain why Daisy Duke is an American icon. To become Daisy she enlisted an old high school friend and personal trainer, Mike Alexander, to whip her into shape. If you've see the video for her single, "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'," you know he did an amazing job. "She was a dream client at a very opportune time," he told USA Today. On the advice of the Simpson family, Mike moved to Los Angeles and stayed with Jessica's parents. He was a member of Joe Simpson's youth ministry and describes Jess's dad as a "big brother." But there were no miracles involved in getting Jessica ready for her sexy role. Let's just say you can't be lazy if you want to be Daisy. Mike and Jessica worked out at the Beverly Hills' Sports Club LA, doing an hour of weights and a half hour of cardio everyday. "Jessica wanted more of a bump for her rear end instead of a flat butt," he says. To put a little more junk in the trunk -- but still keeping her butt and legs super toned -- Simpson reportedly worked a rigorous program of lunges and squats while holding 7 1/2-pound weights. And because most of the stuff she wore in the movie was sleeveless or strapless, "We did a lot of bicep curls, 10-pound elbow cable extensions, incline press and shoulder raises" to chisel her back, arms, shoulders and chest, he said. Jessica's will power and Mike's support didn't end when the workout was over. He lived in a house with her during the three months she was in Baton Rouge shooting the film with co-stars Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott. "I ate every meal with her so I could tell her what to order," Mike says. He encouraged her to eat grilled chicken, seared fish, broccoli and asparagus. Bread baskets are a no-no as is extra sugar in Jessica's tea. And since hospitality is a way of life in the South, Jessica had to refuse free desserts. "Once word got out where Jessica was staying in town, neighbors began dropping off fresh baked goods," Mike told the paper. "But Jessica remained incredibly disciplined." Once shooting wrapped, however, Jessica celebrated Southern style with chicken-friend steak, mashed potatoes and a hot fudge brownie sundae. Yee-haw!  See if Jessica's hard work paid off -- watch the trailer, check showtimes at Moviefone.

Imposter of Paris

A look-alike is trying to live the Hilton Life

Paris Hilton
One of the major perks of being a celebrity is getting the VIP treatment, which includes free stuff (that you can totally afford) and access to the hottest hotspots. But you're nobody, it seems, if you don't have an imposter using your name to get a little piece of the celebrity pie. First a naughty girl claimed to be Beyoncé at fancy boutiques and glitzy hotels in order to get some goods, then police repoprtedly raided the home of a woman who had been using Jessica Simpson's name to get free stuff sent to her New Jersey apartment. Now (it was only a matter of time really) Paris Hilton has an imposter of her very own! The New York Daily News reports that authorities contacted Paris to tell her that a woman is using her identity in order to get special treatment. Not only does the woman look like the House of Wax star with long blonde hair, she also constantly says "that's hot" and even carries a tea cup chihuahua like Paris' pooch Tinkerbelle. "Once, this woman tried to get VIP treatment at Disneyland," a source tells the Daily News. "She was telling people she'd call (Disney chief) Michael Eisner" if she didn't get what she wanted. The imposter also tried to check into the Four Seasons Hotel in Maui where the Hiltons have stayed, the source said. She asked for upgrades before the hotel management got suspicious and called Paris' parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton. They told the hotel that Paris wasn't even in Hawaii. "The Hiltons got really worried when they heard someone had applied for a credit card in Paris' name. They're wondering if there's more than one person pretending to be their daughter," the source said. For her part, Paris' rep only said that she was "concerned" by the news, but you couldn't tell by looking at the recent pictures coming out of Europe where she and fiance Paris Latsis partied with Tara Reid.

Lindsay's Sad Song

In the midst of family troubles, she's putting pen to paper and composing a tell-all tune

A good popstar knows that if you have a mortifying moment, like Ashlee Simpson's lip-synching fiasco on SNL, the best thing to do is to write a song about it. Or in Ashlee's case, two. "Beautifully Broken" and "Who Will Help Me When I Fall" are two tracks off her new album, entitled In Another Life, that tell her side of the embarassing story. "There's no way to run away from failure," Ashlee's dad and manager, Joe Simpson, told MTV News. "So we try to teach our girls the way to do it is head on. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and go at it." Lindsay Lohan, who is going through major family drama, is taking that page from the popstar playbook. Not only are her parents going through a bitter divorce, but her dad is in jail. Not easy stuff to deal with when you're like one of the most famous teens on the planet. What's a girl to do? You got it. Lindsay has written a pop song about her family troubles. It's not finished yet, but the working title is either "Daughter to Father" or "Confessions of a Broken Heart," according to the New York Daily News. The song is "the story of a girl crying to her father, asking him why he did all this to the family, and more so, to her," a source tells the paper. "There's also a something about how, as the oldest child, she carries the weight on her shoulders. She asks him 'If you loved us, why did you do all these things?' " Lindsay is the oldest of four and she's scheduled to testify on behalf of her mother, Dina, who is seeking full custody of the littler Lohans, according to reports. Despite the family saga, Lindsay is ready to open up about her experience with the new song. "She's written every word and she's directing the video," her rep told the paper. "It will chronicle the last year and a half of her life." Kinda makes Ashlee's issues seem like kid's stuff, huh?

Cops Probe Britney BB Gun Incident

Police investigate after a photographer is shot outside Spears's baby shower

Britney Spears
Police plan to investigate an incident in which a photographer was shot with a BB gun while staking out Britney Spears over the weekend. The paparazzo, Brad Diaz, was hit in the leg Saturday night outside a Malibu home where he was tracking a baby shower for Spears, authorities say. "Because of the media attention, we'll probably put this on the front burner to settle the whole thing," sheriff's Sgt. Robert Knudson told the Associated Press on Monday. Diaz claimed the shot came from the direction of the home, Knudson said. Spears's bodyguards told authorities they weren't involved in the incident. A detective will be assigned to the case Monday, authorities said. Over the weekend, sheriff's Lt. Steve Smith said the identity of the BB gunman was unclear. "It could've been somebody driving by, walking by, we have no idea where it came from." Smith initially said the home belonged to Spears, but said deputies later learned that it belonged to someone else and that Spears is a frequent guest. He did not identify the owner. There has been no comment from the Spears camp, but a photo of the shower in Monday's New York Daily News shows a smiling Spears among such guests as her mother Lynne, sister Jamie Lynn and, according to the photo caption, hubby Kevin Federline's two young children from his previous relationship with Shar Jackson.
