Scheduled Flights

Eastern Airways

Eastern Airways are based at Humberside and operate 4 flights a day to Aberdeen on weekdays. There are no flights on Saturdays but there is a single return flight on Sundays. Normaly Jetstream 41 aircraft are used.

At Aberdeen passengers can connect to Bergen, Oslo, Stavanger, Stornoway and Wick.

The Aberdeen route has been long established at Humberside and is mainly used for business travel related to the oil industry. For many years, Air UK operated the flights through Teeside and Edinburgh airports but after purchase by KLM in the late 1990's, pulled off the route. British Airways Regional started a once daily non-stop flight but more frequent flights from start up carrier Eastern Airways led to them quickly ending the route. Aberdeen was Eastern's first route and have operated it ever since, although during the early 2000's, there was a competing service from Gama Aviation.

You can find out more on Eastern Airways on their website - www.easternairways.com and get flight times on either the airport (on the pdf flight guide) or Eastern Airways website.

Flybe

Flybe are Humberside's only low cost airline. They operate weekly seasonal summer services to Jersey and Malaga on Saturdays. The Jersey route was started in 2009, replacing a former VLM charter, while Malaga is new for Summer 2010.

Jersey: Operates from May 1st to September 18th with a Dash 8 Q400.

  • BE1197 arrives from Jersey at 1510
  • BE1198 departs to Jersey at 1535

Malaga: Operates from May 29th to September 11th with an Embraer 195.

  • BE1952 arrives from Malaga at 1410
  • BE1953 departs to Malaga at 1450

KLM

KLM operate the key route to Amsterdam. The flight caters for local traffic to Amsterdam and feeds their major hub at the airport for worldwide connections. Flights are operated with Fokker 50's, Fokker 70's and Fokker 100's of regional arm, KLM Cityhopper. The current frequency for winter 2009/10 has been reduced to three times a day, though will return to four times a day for part of the Summer 2010 season. Flights are bookable on the KLM Website.

The route was the first to be operated from the airport since it opened in 1975. Then the airline was Air Anglia. Air Anglia became part of Air UK in 1980. Air UK continued to operate the route, under a codeshare with KLM, until takeover by KLM in the late 1990's. The airline was rebranded as KLM UK but otherwise operations remained unchanged. Finally KLM merged KLM UK into KLM Cityhopper, and the airline maintains a crew base at Humberside.
