AIRBORNE

During the second World War a new army division was created , the Airborne . The purpose was to attack the ennemy in his front and his back , the airborne divisions would be dropped behind the enemy lines to attack the enemy by surprise , take strongpoints like bridges, battery sites  and open beach causeways .

This site is about all allied Paratrooper divisions who participated in OPERATION OVERLORD , or D-DAY , 06 June 1944.
