Gowerton Ki-Aikido Society

For Pure Self Defence

Upcoming Courses

Every few months, we try and hold a full day course on a sunday, to run through in more depth, many of the aspects of our training. Training is held at the Rechabite hall in Gowerton, as usual, starting at 10.30 am and finishing around 5-6pm. The morning session is usually focused on Ki development, then a break for lunch with the afternoon based around techniques and weapons training. Please bring a packed lunch with you. The course costs £10 for the full day. Please arrive a half hour before the course begins.

Next Course:

Sunday 11th February

Upcoming events

Well, Christmas is getting closer, so we are organising another Christmas dinner for the club. Claire has kindly looked into booking the meal and will be taking a deposit soon. The meal will be £13 and a deposit of £5 is requested to book your place. Friends, family and all other add on's are more than welcome!

The meal was brilliant and went down very well. I think Dai wins hands down for the number of trips to the salad cart! Merry Christmas to you all!

Recent Gradings

We had a few Christmas gradings on the 17th December. First of all Claire went for her Brown belt and passed with flying colours! Congratulations to you, Claire. Second we had Tony going for his 1st Dan Black belt, who also passed well! Good on you Tony! In the juniors class, Daniel and Jordan both went for their Orange belt. Both flew through with no problems. Lastly, there was myself, Will, who went for my 2nd Dan Black belt. I am delighted to say that I too made the grade. I hope that each of you had a smile (maybe of relief, I sure did!) on your face over the festive period!

Well, we have now got a new Dan grade in the club! Adam went for his grading on Sunday 17th September. All in all it was a very good grading (as one of the Uke's I should know!), and Adam passed well. Congratulations from all the club.
