Genesis Aikido Club Celebrates 8^th Anniversary

Genesis Aikido Club – the most active Aikido organization in Saudi Arabia, headed by Sensei Ronald Nilo, 4^th dan Shuseikan Aikido celebrated its 8^th Anniversary recently. The celebration was attended by the members and instructors from the different chapters of Genesis Aikido Club all over the kingdom, as well as the member clubs of Shuseikan Aikido Federation of which Genesis Aikido Club is a founding member. The event was sponsored by MediaCom – Jeddah Branch, Saudi Arabia.

It was a busy day for all the members of Genesis Aikido Club who participated in the Aikido seminar, competitions, demonstrations and exhibitions. The crowd uproared as 5-year old Toto Dammang and 8-year old Jay Jay Ticman threw their partners in one of the most exciting exhibitions seen in the event. Sensei Nilo gave them special award and medal for their exemplary performance.

The winners in the events are:

·          Best in High Thrust - Nap Solis

·          Best in Ikkyo Waza - Manny Zuniega II and Marlon Iguiron

·          Best in Nikkyo Waza - Jerry Goloran & Sis Kyer Peregrino

·          Best in Shiho NageWaza - Jerry Goloran & Sis Kyer Peregrino

·          Best in Sankyo Waza - Eduardo Endaya & Franz Bunsoy

·          Best in Kote Gaeshi Waza - Starr Servania & Rodrigo Madrid Jr.

·          Best in Kokyu Nage Waza - Starr Servania & Rodrigo Madrid Jr.

·          Best in Exhibition - Starr Servania, Rodrigo Madrid Jr., Jonathan Salibad & William Arca

All the attending instructors acted as judges in the competitions.

The following black belts were also promoted during the event: Sensei Ferdie Silva – 3^rd dan black belt, Sensei Ramon Rayco – 2^nd dan black belt and Sensei Bonn Abando – 2^nd dan black belt. All attendees were given certificates of participation. Awards of appreciation were given to Master Boy Buayan, Sensei Jamel Sarsoza, Sensei Rene Borres, Capt. Magno Lirazan, Sensei Cesar Bencito, Sensei Mohammad Isshaq, Engr. Manny Laguardia, Mr. Khalid Nabeel Shawli, Mr. Pabs Pagatpat Jr. of MediaCom, Mr. Francis Salud of TFC, and to Master Chat Villacorte for their special exhibition. Sister Kyer Peregrino was also awarded as 2005 Outstanding Member.

Genesis Aikido Club teaches Aikido in its principles and discipline, and all ranks awarded is recognized by Shuyokan Honbu Dojo-International Shuyokan Aikido Federation under Soke David Dye, 10^th Dan Founder & Headmaster.
