AICUF - THE HISTORY
The All India Catholic University Federation commonly
known as the AICUF was started in 1924 at St. Joseph's
College, Trichy, Tamil Nadu. Started initially for
Catholics students, it is now opened to all University
Students across the country and exists in twelve
states including Maharashtra.
After a gap of about 8 years, AICUF has been revived
in Mumbai.

-Being slowly modified into a university Federation on
the models of Pax Romana

300 students, advisers, ex-Aicufers, Social scientists &
theologians, officials & friends evolving and
approving a New Aicuf Constitution! laying the
foundation for a new Aicuf!
AICUF IN THE 1990's

-Taking a special option for Adivasis, Dalits & women
and for the students among these oppressed sections
-Initiating locally based & secular student movements
and strongly re-discovering the federal style
-Searching for new pedagogies and new models in a
world caught up with Globalisation & Communalism.
