Welcome back to our website. and to life at Flor de Vida. Since the hectic weeks leading up to our wedding and Michael's 65th birthday bash life has been a bit quieter for us in that we have spent a lot of time preparing the Hymer for our three and a half month travels, c0mmencing next Tuesday, 31st March. Michael has worked tirelessly carrying out various modifications to make our travels even more comfortable, and a motorhome dealer has fitted an airconditioning unit - a must, security alarms and reversing cameras. We tested out the Hymer last week when we went to Cartama for a couple of days, staying at a small campsite at which we'd stayed last year, Finca de la Piedra, and we were pleased to see that everything worked very well. We've no qualms about our forthcoming travels and, in fact, are very excited.
We're quite flexible in our plans, but the rough plan is to leave here and head towards Barcelona, Marseille, Monaco, Genoa, down to Rome, up to Lake Trasimeno and Florence and Pisa, and then to San Marino on the Adriatic. From there we hope to visit the Lake Garda area and then head towards the UK for half term week.
Our return journey will take us to Holland and through Germany and into Slovenia. The more we read about Solvenia, the more attractive it seems and we aim to spend some time there.
We've a mountain of camping books, although we've recently found a website on the internet that features just 22,000 - yes, 22,000, camping sites - well, nearer 23,000 actually. It's brilliant in that it shows whether camping cheques, Soleil cheques, ACSI card etc can be used and we can see that we may well refer to it quite often: http://en.camping.info/.
We aim to be back home around the middle of July, ready to welcome members of our families who will be spending time out here. We're 'booked up' until around 6 September and are really looking forward to seeing them all again.
So, we'll keep our website updated with plenty of photos and hopefully interesting stories of where we are and what we're doing, using the new 'blog' feature that Webs now offer. In the meantime, we hope you'll enjoy the photos we've put on now for you.
Adios for now and maybe see you on our travels. Do keep in touch - we'll have our mini notebook with us.
Very best wishes.
Marion and Mike
