AGoG Teen Art Gallery

Now Accepting Teen Artwork

Hello!

Welcome to the AGoG Teen Art Gallery website.

AGoG is owned and operated by four teenagers. AGoG is a place where teens can express themselves through art, because youth artists in Stark County are underserved! Public school art programs are being cut due to tight budgets. Existing art programs do not always allow for artistic freedom of expression. Youth artists have no venue for selling their work; no chance to learn how to market their artwork; no experience in learning the business of selling art. We have an opportunity to change that.

Our mission is to give teens the opportunity to sell and promote their artwork of all varieties. We advocate for the arts in the community by providing a retail space for young artist to promote their work. The gallery is located in the 2nd April Galerie Annex.

ArtsinStark seeks local recording artists

Stark County musicians, of all genres, are invited to submit an audio CD track of one original song that may be used for a CD compilation to be distributed by ArtsinStark, The County Arts Council.  The proposed 20-track CD, working titled Sounds of Stark 2, will be used as a thank you gift for donors of a specific dollar amount to the Fund for ArtsinStark drive slated to begin in March 2009.

Although the artists will not receive monetary compensation for their work’s inclusion on this CD, they will have their name and any additional credits, including copyright year, publishing (if any) and the name of who holds the rights to the music on the CD sleeve.  They will also receive a complimentary copy of the finished CD.

After the Fund for ArtsinStark campaign, the CD will be sold via the ArtsinStark website with all proceeds being input into the SmArts grants program of ArtsinStark, aimed at growing smarter kids through arts involvement.

“We are looking for submissions that feature the musical richness of our community, highlighting all aspects of music including classical, new age, gospel, rap, rock, Indie, Christian and country,” said Judi Christy, Marketing Director for ArtsinStark.  “We’re open to any style, as long as the composition is original and appropriate for any listener regardless of age.”

As with Sounds of Stark, Vol. 1, this compilation will be produced by Benjamin Payne.

Musicians interested in being part of this compilation are invited to send a high resolution audio CD of one track (only), along with a brief bio of the artist or group including contact information, a written statement giving ArtsinStark permission to use this track on their compilation CD, and any copyright information about the track.

Deadline is December 1, 2008.

Please send or deliver all audio CDs to Judi Christy at ArtsinStark, 900 Cleveland Avenue NW, P.O. Box 21190, Canton, OHIO 44701-1190.  Call 330-453-1075, ext 206 or contact judi@artsinstark.com  with your questions.

Updates:

07/3/08

Our page slots have filled, so to reduce, the AGoG website is undergoing a slight rearranging. As of today, the AGoG website will categorize art by mediums; this will be easier to navigate, and artist sources will still be clearly marked under artwork photographs. Also, the Artists page will now include one featured artwork beside the artist's bio.

The webmasters are currently working on featuring all of the gallery's art on artist pages for promotion and purchasing. Many of the pieces of artwork on the gallery walls had to be photographed and posted with details on the artist pages, which is of course taking time! :) Please be patient with us; more photos of the gallery and the art are being uploaded daily for you to view. Check back soon!
