We encourage the spiritual as well as the cognitive and physical development of the child. The educational philosophy is patterned after the discoveries of Dr. Maria Montessori regarding the young child. The spiritual philosophy follows the teachings of Christ and are presented as parables with hands on materials which allow manipulation of figures showing the events of Christ's life as well as the parables he taught. We believe that each child is a unique individual with the ability to construct him/herself. Our goal is to provide each one with the tools to do this in a loving and caring environment.
The curriculum includes the area of language, mathematics, sensorial exercises, practical life exercises, grace and courtesy and the atrium. We strive to maintain the level of excellence required by the Association Montessori Internacionale (AMI) standards. Our classroom directress is trained by the AMI method and by the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd; a Christian Montessori Training designed to introduce the child to the Christ, the Good Shepherd and to nurture that relationship.
