Curio Connect is your link with South Africa Arts and Crafts industry and mainly focuses on KwaZulu Natal. This indegenous Arts and Crafts produced in KwaZulu Natal is largely produced by hand. Mostly women working together as a co-operative to produce outstanding works. Some of the crafts avialable are also from other parts of Africa.

Traditional communities in KwaZulu Natal can weave baskets of such fine quality that they are waterproof enough to hold beer and other fluids. Traditional sleeping mats are now used as window blinds, conference bags, table runners etc.

KwaZulu Natal is the land of endless green hills, the sebsational Drakensburg Mountains, sun-soaked beaches and home to the mighty Zulu nation. The now reconciled province is steeped in history, having once witness to the confrontations caused by the expansion of the Zulu Empire, the exploration of the Boers and the invasion of the British.

Also know as the Zulu Kingdom, the provinces coastline is a popular holiday destination because of it's warm tropical climate which lasts through the winter.

Hand made crafts are an intergral part of the Zulu culture and incorporate decorative elements such as beadwork, jewelry and clothing, artifacts used in ceremonies and rituals,as well as partical items like clay pots, sleeping mats and wooden head rests which date back centuries.

World renown for its intricate and colorful beadwork, the historic warrior nation of the  Zulu people has a culture characterized by creative skills. Tradional Zulu crafts dominate throughout the province, although traces of contemprary crafts are also present.
