Brief History Lesson of the Day
AFOKU was created on May 2nd, 2008. The name was later changed to Midwest cosplayers (MWC or pronounced ‘Mahwook’) on July 11, 2009 after some thought processes fired.
Current Motive
After Amori’s withdrawal Stone took over Presidency and Ro-chan became Vice president. We carry on the idea set down by Amori. Putting in their own ideas to help expand the Otaku wave in Kansas, through different means. One of which will be hopefully pooling together to do a group cosplay at least at each Convention. We also hope to expand the MWC memberships by creating different items that each member contributed; i.e art work, costume designs, crafts, and jewelry.
MWC is primarily a group name for members going to Anime Conventions in (but not limited) to Kansas and parts of Missouri and Oklahoma. We'll try to have more member meet-ups at every Convention we decide to visit and new members can take that time to get to know the board members and the rest of the group.
At the moment, MWC is a work in progress but with hopes to advance and give everyone a chance to expand and maybe get more opportunities.
Anyone is welcome to fill out an application to join and be added to our roster. MWC IS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY FREE TO JOIN. NO MEMBERSHIP PAYMENT NEEDED!
