Vargas is a little town of about 1500 inhabitants which belongs to Puente Viesgo.Itīs located about 25 km SW of Santander, the capital city of Cantabria region ,at the north-centre of Spain. Puente Viesgo is a well-know name between prehistoric scientifics due to the "El Castillo" caves, where one of the most important paleontological and well-documented deposits of prehistoric men in the world is sited.Another cave,Altamira, is located at 15 km from Puente Viesgo and is considered as the "Sixtine Chapel of Prehistoric Art",due to the very rich animal`s paints of bisons and other animals in the walls,,,17000 years ago.

Unfortunately, since I arrived to my actual home (2 years ago)...light polution has been increasing continuously
In 2006 Iīll bet for a Bortle scale 5...but nowadays (2008) itīs barely Bortle scale 6...
Here you are my four cardinal points in a bad night..:
East side
The village is located east -southeast of my backyard.Light reflections over
the clouds or fog ..Anyway,in very clear nights itīs my better option

West side
No words.A new urbanization and lamppost .Few chances.Only
useful at very high elevations.

North side
Very similar to East side...Light seen is from Renedo,a town with
a population of about 3000 , 5 Kilometers in that direction...
South side
My neighbourgh home. Not too bad ,but the house donīt let me
to image objects under 50 degrees of elevation..Despite that..useful..
