FRIENDLY AGAINST TORRANCE
This is the continuing story of a group of young Glasgow footballers who have been playing as a team for the last few years now, they have come from all over the City to play the game they love and to make something of themselves rather than hang around the streets like many other boys their age.Already,2 of the players have been signed up by Glasgow Celtic "Pro-youth" and Dundee Utd "Pro-youth",and a number of the squad have been picked for the regional side, another of the team has been selected for the Scotland squad, proving that having teams like this to help the boys develop is very worthwhile.Over the years they have played a lot of very good teams, not only in their own league but also teams from Ireland and Canada and have won ,not only trophies but more importantly the respect of a lot of opposing teams and their supporters for the way they play their football.A lot of the praise must go to the teams manager,Pat Mclaughlin, who has taught them that violent play will not be tolerated in this squad and that playing as a team rather than individuals will win games for them. This season the boys will be going into the 06-07 season as 15s and Im sure everyone connected with the club wishes them all the best of luck.

The views printed on this site are not the views or opinions of AFC CELTIC,these are from an Independent observation of a club trying to get youngsters off the streets and away from gang culture growing in Glasgow streets at the moment. And therefor in my view, the club and management should be given every encouragement in what they are doing,be it by Sponsorship or by other means.
