Aesop's Fablers Toastmasters

Welcome

Everyone loves a good story.  Let Aesop's Fablers Toastmasters Club help you improve your story telling skills through practice and immediate feedback in a warm, supportive environment.  Come visit and enjoy the stories but watch out, you may get caught up wanting to tell one yourself.

We meet the first Thursday of each month at the Hart Senior Center at 27th & J Streets in Sacramento from 7 - 8:30 p.m..  The Regional Transit bus stops at the corner and free parking is all around the park.

We were on TV on Cable Channel 17.  Our club was filmed at TIC TOC (Toastmasters in the Community, Toastmasters on Cable) at the Access Studios in Sacramento.  If you missed seeing our club, you will find another Toastmasters club when you tune in on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. or Fridays at 3 a.m.  Look for Faye,  Louise & Arne.  Sometimes Channel 17 randomly repeat the shows on Saturday or Sunday.

Come celebrate with us as we acknowledge 35 years as a Toastmasters club.  Presents are not required but your "presence" is.  See you there.

Contact Arne Sampe at 916 362-9013 or Louise Houdelette at 916 875-5276 for more details.  Guests are always welcomed with or without stories.  Membership in another Toastmasters club is recommended but not required.

August 2006 - Practice with Puppets

We dug out our favorite fable from Aesop or animal folk tale and then brought it to our Aug 3 meeting.  We had animal hand puppets available to help you illustrate your story. We learned and experienced the joys of working with puppets.   - If you missed this session and would like to us to repeat it, contact Louise or Arnie.

Sept 2006

Our September meeting was held at the Access Studios at the Coloma Community Center, 4623 T Street, Sacramento so we could be filmed by TIC TOC Toastmasters Club.  It was great fun to see ourselves on TV later.  We might need more make-up next time so we don't look so pale.

Have Story, Will Travel - Coming Soon

Aesop's Fablers are developing a "club" story that we can take on the road to present to Senior Centers, Storytelling Fairs, etc (anyplace that has ears to listen).  Plan to attend our development meetings to share your input and suggestions.  We will be exploring "plot", "characters", and "settings" as we fabricate our club story.  See you on the first Thursday of each month.
