The cities of the year 2438 now house a lot more people than before, but rather than expanding outwards, the cities built up. A city usually has two or three 'levels', with those who cannot afford a good life on the bottom layer, the factories and workplaces on the second level, and those with a good income, on the third level. The bottom level is a place of artificial light, as no sunlight is able to touch it, and apartment complexes. The mid level is where most of the people in the city go to work, although the better off businesses reach all the way into the third level, using their space on the mid level as storage and maintenance. The campaign takes place in the year 2438, and the players are a group of mercenaries. Their living quarters are in a housing complex in the third level of Chicago.
