ASSIGNMENTS/ MAKE UP WORK

As most assignments will be corrected in class, no late work will be accepted. It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements with the teacher for taking the missed test/quiz. Students may make up a quiz the day they come back to school if they have a signed note excusing their absence.

EXTRA CREDIT

I may make available certain extra activities during the term. They will have specific due dates which are firm. I do not view extra credit as a replacement for not doing classroom activities or doing poorly on a quiz or test. Students should not come to me at the end of the term asking for extra credit so that they can pass the class.

These should be pre-approved.

ATTENDANCE

Students are responsible for any material covered in class when they are absent. They will need to take the same quizzes/tests as other students who have been here everyday. Students are expected to be in class on time everyday. Labs and video presentations can’t be made up. Assignments and tests are expected to be handed in or taken the day a student returns after an absence. It is the student’s responsibility to make arrangements for activities, assignments, quizzes, and tests which are missed due to an absence or tardy. As per district policy, the only excused absence is for personal illness accompanied by a note from a parent or doctor.

TARDY

Students are not allowed to disturb the class by entering class late. A quiz is given each day worth 5 points. When the bell sounds the student must be in the room, the door will be closed at the bell. The quiz will be given and corrected. The door will be opened to allow late students in. Late students are to wait at the door silently until it is opened. The late student loses the 5 points from the quiz.
