Eve, The Messenger of Eli (played by Adrienne Wilkinson)
Eve, The Messenger of Eli, is the reincarnation of the evil warlord, killed and turned angel, Callisto and is the daughter of Xena the Warrior Princess. Destined to be a Messenger foe the true God of Love, Eve was stripped of her destiny as a baby. The gods threatened to kill her for was the Bringer of Twilight bringing the end of the Olympian Order. Xena and Gabrielle were forced to fake their deaths in order to escape persecusion. But the plan went wrong when Ares, believing them dead, took Xena and Gabrielle to Mount Etna to rest in a tomb of ice. Eve grew up never knowing of her destiny. She grew up to be Livia the Champion of Rome. Trained by her guardian Alfidia and warriors like Cathian, The Amazons, Cyncus and Ares, Livia grew hateful, bitter and saw all who defied Rome as a rejection of her. Livia was Rome's greatest champion and monster. She killed all who stood in her way including the followers of Eli. Livia's world was turned around when Xena came back into her life. With help from Eli, Livia was reborn unveiling her true nature as Eve. She saw both the error of her ways and her true destiny as Messenger of the very people she persecuted.
But with the revelation of her destiny came the great guilt of what she did as Livia. Her new path to bring peace and let the world know of love was met with opposition and fear. Often Eve set out to set right many wrongs and atone for her many transgretions before she could continue on. Her path is a hard one to walk. People refused to believe she changed, towns and cities oppossed Rome and Eli and most of all Eve refused to forgive herself for her past.
Destiny comes to pass in strange ways and through the divine will of Eli, Eve has been granted a second chance. Craig Summers and Alex Mackenzie, two demon hunters who needed a helping hand brought Eve's soul to the 21st century to keep that balance between good and evil. Eve's mission is to protect the people of New York, protecting their right to choose and keep the balance between good and evil. Thanks to Eli, Eve is able to fulfill her destiny in both ancient and present time.
Eve's first year living in the 21st century found her struggling to keep on her path while trying to adapt to the massive change of life in the 21'st century. In trying to escape her past she only found the past catching up with her more. When she finally accepted her past and accepted it as being part of who she is, she felt she was finally able to move on until Craig, died at the hands of a vengeful soul. Thuvan, a warlord turned demon set out to destroy Eve but his oppostion only made her stronger. The bond between her and Alex became stronger and Jeff, a new friend, became an asset to the mission. Eve finally found the redemption she sought so hard for when she saved Thuvan's soul. In redeeming one she had wronged in the past she had redeemed herself. Thuvan thanked Eve for giving him back his humanity and love and felt it was only right to give back something he took from her. He willingly left Craig's body and let his soul be free and gave him life again.
Eve's mission in the 21'st century is not over. The other part of her mission is to restore the line of Messengers, people who through out time have guided the world in the way of love and who have strived to keep the balance of good and evil. Eve has had to battle doubt through out this year, doubt of her mission, her place and doubt about her friends. Through it all Eve was able to overcome it because she believed in her friends and in turn they believed in her. Trying to save Alex was the hardest task of all and in the end, while trying to save the world, Alex made the utilmate sacrafice, the sacrafice that Eve was learning to make. Alex put her own interests aside and decided to stay on Olympus to learn how to control her powers and the gods who now reside inside her.
Eve has new powers to try and control on top of being given the centre to run. On top of that she'll be confronting her emotions about James and Craig, dealing with the Aquataine Amazons when they come looking for Morgan and once again Lucifer. Eve is going to have to get back to basics now that Lucifer is up to his old tricks. Eve will be confronting her past again but in a different way, so she can make sence of what is happening in the present when Lucifer sends a new threat to try and stop Eve so he can return to the earth.
Craig Summers (played by Austin St. John)
Craig Summers was raised as a wiccan and comes from a line of demon hunters and warriors. Craig took it upon himself to follow in the ways his grandmother had taught him and set out to make a difference in the world. He became a demon hunter and he learned all he could about the ancient and demon worlds hence becoming a professor at NYU. With his friend Alex, Craig set out to protect the innocent and stop the evil. But when the forces shifted in evil's favour Craig knew they needed help. He performed a spell that allowed the soul of Eve the Messenger of Eli to be released from a sacred talisman to fight in evil in the 21'st century.
In 2003 Craig was killed by a demon who harboured a damned soul. Thuvan, melded his soul with Craig to gain control of his body. Thuvan used Craig to do damning deeds knowing it would hurt Eve. However, it only made her stronger and more determined to put Craig's soul at rest. After redeeming Thuvan and giving him back his love and humanity he gave back what he wrongfully took. Craig's body, Craig's soul and his life.
The past events took it's toil on Craig, making him hard, vicious and sent him into drinking. He could not bare the weight of the guilt he felt. It took many lessons, many people and almost the death of his dear friend Alex to make him face his pain, his fear, and beging to forgive himself, for all things happen for a reason and one has to know the darkness in order to know the light.
Now with Alex gone and Jeff no longer having the connections he used to, Craig takes up leading the hunt as he learns to cope with Alex's absence while he and Eve's bond grows stronger.
Jeff Morrison (played by Dorian Gregory)
Jeff Morrison is a no nonsence cop that has played by the rules. He's been known to bend a few for his friends but to break them all the way was a different story.
Jeff didn't always play by the rules from the beginning. He led a different childhood then most, without television and comicbooks. He was taught to look for the beauty in the earth and look for heroes is real people. His sister Natalie became encouraged and had a gift that was developing, Jeff ended up seeing no beauty and beleiving in nothing good. It led him to drinking. It wasn't until someone out of the kindness of their own heart took him to rehab and that's where he started to beleive in the good of mankind. Re hab is also where he met Craig.
He wanted to make a better future for himself and others like his friend Craig although they went about it in different ways. It was not until one fateful night that Jeff realized what Craig really did. Craig and Alex are demon hunters and they teamed up with Eve a prophet's messenger from the past who is to bring balance between the forces and bring love back into the world. That night brought about many changes including Craig's death. Now in memory of Craig and what he stood for Jeff fights with Eve and Alex playing the cop and the demon hunter.
Jeff fought beside Alex and Eve for a year learning new thing about Eve and Alex and rediscovering his life before he was a cop realising how hard and straight his become. He's made friends in Eve , Alex and James he thought he would never have and has realised that love can save all. This proved true when Craig was saved and his life and soul was given back. Jeff continued to fight along side the team, dealing with Craig's re habilitation, Jeff's own growing attraction to Morgan a bad ass amazon and dealing with the exposition of his demon fighting and using police resources to do so. Before getting fired, Jeff quit the force and started up his own detective agency that also dealt with demonic cases. These types of cases were passed along to Eve and there was no chrage.
In this new year Jeff will deal with an old flame and the consequences of leaving the force and the questions that come with it. He'll also deal with his growing relationship with Morgan and how his part on Eve's team has been marginalized now that he no longer has the resources he used to.
James is the reincarnation of Virgil and has been granted a gift of premonitions. These powers are forever growing stronger and have become an asset to Eve and her mission.
James' life had been pretty modest up until he met Eve when he applied for a job at the Centre.James learned of his past life, his powers and Eve's identity. It took some time but James learned to trust her and their relationship grew strong.
After Craig's death James joined the frey and helped Jeff Alex and Eve fight demons but the relationship James and Eve had was fading. James learned to hone his powers with the help of Jeff's sister Natalie who's a psychic. Thanks to his powers he was able to help Eve stop Thuvan before he tore Alex and Eve apart and was able to help save Alex and Fraysa's souls
James has continued to fight along side Eve and the others developing a strong connection with Alex but it was unfortunately not strong enought to save her from running to the gods when she thought the gang had abandoned her. The gods were also a threat to his visions, which he didn't know how much he needed them until they were taken away. The force of Daphne's promise was fulfilled and he got them back but not before discovering how much of Virgil he had in him. James began writing and also decided to rebuild the centre and help Eve take over while Alex is gone.
James will deal with his returning attraction to Eve, trying to run the centre, and dealing with the fact that he is becoming more like Vigil than he thought.
Morgan Clemont (played by Tsianina Joelson)
Morgan Clemont is an amazon of the new age! A warrior trained in the ways of an amazon to protect the tomb of the first messenger of Eli as a dept owed to the Messenger, by Varia of the One Tribe by trying to kill her when the amazons owed their elligence to Ares.
Morgan grew up in Canada. Unsatisfied with her life she went east traveling in search of something more and came across a society of mystical women and warriors. These warriors were the amazons a new order that was started by Ellanor of Aquataine, a Messenger of Eli. She found solice and strength in their ways and became one of them. The mystics knew of her destiny and her past lives thus sending her to protect the tomb of the Messenger of Eli. This path will lead her to side with Eve the Messenger of Eli.
Morgan immediantly followed Eve upon meeting her, even all the way to New York, trying to fulfill her destiny. What Morgan found was a way to deal with her past when her abusive boyfriend came looking for her. After dealing with that Morgan found a purpose, Jeff, a man that really cares, and a family. She has no intention of leaving that anytime soon.
Morgan has a strong and some what abrasive personality and could almost be compared to Alex. But don't tell her that, she wants to accepted as her own person. In order to do that she will have to deal with the amazons, when they come looking for her and deal with her family when they want a relationship again.
Alex MacKenzie (played by Tracy Lynn Cruz)
Alexandra MacKenzie.Part god, part mortal and all rebel.
Orphaned at a young age and taken in by her best friend's family, Alex was always a rebellious child, always looking for something she thought she would never find, salvation. Craig gave her the chance to do something worthwhile with her life and a chance to make a better future. She became a demon hunter. When they were no longer able to fight evil on their own Alex followed Craig as he performed a spell to bring Eve the Messenger of Eli to the 21'st century.
Alex's world was turned upside down when she was shot in the stomach. She didn't die but found out she was part god. She is the daughter of Evander and Persephone and Ares granddaughter. Alex accepted her godhood as it aided her and Eve in their fight against demons but refused a relationship with her parents and God family. Alex resented Persephone for giving her up and hated Evander for killing her adoptive parents in an effort to get Alex.
Alex has always been rude, crude, and rebellious but acts over the past years have forced her to grow up. She decided to run a business, the NEW DAYS Centre. But nothing changed her life more than the death of Craig her best friend and later finding out he was taken over by a vengeful soul. Alex has struggled with change but in the end learned to accept her god family back into her life, deal with her grief, not blame others for loss and to accept change. This change had to include Craig's transformation and grief after he was brought back to life and more importantly her own transformation into a full God.
In 2004 Alex was infused with the essence of the Olympian Gods, forcing her to come to terms with her own god hood and powers, learning to deal with them and the possibility of her death if Eve and the other were to ever find out. She was tricked however and it almost cost her, her life. Eve never gave up hope and found away to stop the gods and save Alex's life. They stuck the gods back in Alex, a permenent prison, by making her a full god. However, this decision brought about a huge turning point in everyone's life. Alex was a danger while she was still weak and the gods were still fighting for control. With the remaining Olympian gods Alex decided to stay on Olympus and learn to control her powers and her god hood while trying to temper the Gods themselves, finding that real chance to make a difference and finally finding the salvation she was looking for, thanks to Eve.
"Alex is a four letter word. So is Geek" Alexandra Clarke: Producer "EVE: The Virtual Series"
In February 2001 as I watched Eve walk out of the Amazon camp on her way to continue her destiny on Xena: Warrior Princess, I found I was left hanging. I felt there were so many loose ends, so many questions left unanswered. Here was an extraordinary character waiting to evolve. There was so much left open with her character and so much that could be done. As I dwelled on this I began forming ideas in my head, characters, adventures and story lines all based around Eve the Messenger of Eli.
All my ideas are influenced by various science fiction sources as I am somewhat of a SCI FI fanatic. Cleopatra 2525, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Charmed and of course Hercules the Legendary Journey's and Xena Warrior Princess were some of the major influences. Character influences came from every SCI FI, fantasy, action/adventure show or movie you can think of. Before I knew it I had created an entire television show in my head. It was becoming somewhat of an obsession and I needed to find an outlet. Finally I had decided to deal with this obsession the way I had dealt with a previous obsession. I had written a few episodes for the "Adventures of Sinbad Fan Fiction Seasons" with a character and entity I had created and decided to approach the concept of "Eve the Messenger of Eli" the same way. By the summer of 2001 I had a whole season completed but felt nowhere near satisfied until I took it another step forward. I made it official, I made "Eve" into EVE. I set up a very basic website and began airing episodes in September and EVE: The Virtual Series was born.
I've been working on this website for three years now and while the obsession has lessened my drive to continue is still going strong thanks to the support of my readers. Eve's character has been broadened, she has a purpose and a new mission. It's not just about redemption anymore. Characters have been created from scratch and are Eve's friends. These new characters share adventures and life experiences with her. There is exciting new enemies, old foes to battle against but more importantly for me I was able to tie up some loose ends.
I know Eve has some long philosophical monologues but if you really read them there is a lot of truth behind them and they also give insight to what the show is all about. While the show is about fighting evil, restoring the line of Messengers and keeping the balance between good and evil, the core of the show is the journey of life, the relationships we carry through it and overall what it means to be human in the 21'st century.
It has been exhilarating writing this series and I feel I've figured out a few things from writing it and I hope I've become a better person because of it. It's hard work being writer, producer and web master but I enjoy every minute and there are a few people that I couldn't have done this without. I would like to take this oppertunity to mention them and give them thanks
HB Kid and the Staff of "The Adventures of Sinbad Fan Fiction Seasons" were the first to encourage my love of writing and gave me the spark to create my own series.
Davin Nation creator of "Eve: The Messenger" also needs to be thanked for sending me a simple but effective website design. He and I got off to a rough start thinking one had copied off the other since both series were so similar. Over time though we have come to respect each other as writers and it has been wonderful to each be able to offer something extraordinary to the Xena Legacy.
Staff member Damar Willis an artist and forum master. Damar's enthusiasim and dedication to this series continues to give me drive and his artwrok provides amazing inspirtation.
I would also like to thank PVT and VSN for haveing promoted the site. Without their support I wouldn't be able to share my stories with others.
Next, to the creators, actresses and actors who put so much work into making the entertainment that we enjoy so much. They inspire and fuel my creative fire. Without them there would be no EVE.
Last but by no means least, I would like to thank and express my extreme gratitude to all my readers and people who support my series. Without you I would not have the drive to keep going.
Eve has her destiny awaiting her and it's far from over so stick around! The story continues.
Sincerely,
Alexandra Clarke
Damar Willis: Resident Artist "EVE: The Virtual Series"
I’m Damar Willis and I stared reading EVE: The Virtual Series from day 1 and loved it. Alex stayed true to Eve’s character. I truly can say now that Eve has really grown. One of my fav. Episodes is “Mom’s Home” where Xena passes on the chakram and I like the fact that Eve has her very own chakram and has her own time and friends. I just love, not like, but love every thing about this series. I never knew there could be so many stories told about Eve. Alex, You really made Eve’s character grow. and there’s no one who can write Eve’s character like you can. You really did a great job with this wonderful series. And I’m just happy to be a part this series.
With Love to all our readers and Alex,
Damar Willis
