SERENGETI-MASAI MARA GREAT WILDEBEEST MIGRATION

 

Just like in humans and commonly more among the pastoralists, the wildebeests in Tanzania and Kenya have what we call the great migration.

Back to the migration, this eye catching scenario takes place in late July and early August when the animals especially the herbivores are crossing from Serengeti-Tanzania to Maasai Mara-Kenya in search of water and palatable grasslands.

 

During this great migration big herds of buffaloes, Zebras, Gazelles and the many species of Antelopes come running like a swam of bees through the serengeti national park now almost dry grasslands heading for the now flourishing Maasi Mara grasslands in kenya, little do they know that danger and death for some of them is just a few miles ahead only to be attacked by the hungry Lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyena on their way through the grasslands and later the crocodiles.
