The Scottish Heir

Stephanie Dennis has spent her life amid the nobility and wealth of London’s elite.  Never one to take her priviledged upbringing for granted, she lives a modest life working as a solicitor along side her grandfather who oversees the estate of the Earl of Ainsley.  While reviewing public records, she discovers that the elderly aristocrat’s true heir is not his well groomed grandson but rather a carefree Highlander who has no interest in becoming a part of British society.  Never one to pass on a challenge, Stephanie agrees to tame the wild man and mold him into a gentleman.  Yet she did not expect to find her self becoming hopelessly drawn to the enigmatic MacAllister ‘Mac’ Ainsley.

Can she maintain her distance or will she fall victim to the charms of the handsome Scot?

This page will contain the cast pics for a new story that I' m writing with Bridgette (Brigand13).  Please check in from time to time for updates.  The story will be posted on the gb.net fan fiction site but there will be a direct link to the story from this site. Thanks!!

The Cast of "The Scottish Heir"

MacAllister “Mac” David Ainsley, the grandson of the Earl of Ainsley.  He was raised by his mother following the death of his father, David Ainsley.  He has lived a bohemian life in Scotland with his artistic mother who sheltered him from the influence of the Ainsley’s by claiming he was illigetimate.  He wants no part of the Ainley’s  privileged lifestyle until he is lured to London by the charming Stephanie Dennis who promises to help him secure funding for his mother’s artistic society in exchange for his cooperation.

Stephanie Dennis, the granddaughter of Nigel Smyth-Weddington IV.  She has lived a lavish life among London’s elite yet she prides herself on her determination and independence.  Unlike her peers, she lives in a modest flat and maintains a job as the solicitor-in-training for the Ainsley estate.  Unable to resist the challenge, she agrees to travel to Glasgow and persuade the lost Ainsley heir to return to his rightful place in the aristocracy.  Yet to her dismay, she does not find a cultured gentleman but rather a Scottish rogue who is more accustomed to brawling after soccer matches than attending social affairs.

Randall Ainsley, the 8th Earl of Ainsley.  An elderly aristocrat who has been proceeded in death by his two sons.  He has spent years grieving the loss of his beloved David, who turned his back on the family following his marriage to a Scottish commoner.  After Stephanie uncovers information revealing that his daughter in law lied regarding his grandson’s legitimacy, he makes a failed attempt to rekindle a relationship with Mac.

Nigel Smyth-Weddington IV, grandfather of Stephanie Dennis and Solicitor for the Ainsley estate.  He has been the life long friend of Randall Ainsley.  It is through him that Stephanie learns the depth of the old aristocrat’s loss and the need he has to form a relationship with his long lost grandson.

Steven Smithfield, the American born boyfriend of Stephanie.  The son of a wealthy New England family, he oversees his family’s London operations.  He has been involved with her in a casual long term relationship since they met at Harvard.  However, he soon feels threatened by her involvement with the enigmatic ‘Mac’.

Cordilia “Dilia” Ashworth, the life long rival of Stephanie Dennis.  She has lived a pampered life in London.  Her rivalry with Stephanie began when they were school girls and continued throughout the years.  She is the quintessential ‘icy blonde’.  She immediately finds herself drawn to the Scottish heir to the Ainsley estate and goes to great lengths to form a bond with him much to the dislike of Stephanie.

William James Peter Ainsley, the young grandson of the Earl of Ainsley.  He has long been groomed to assume his grandfather’s title yet when it is revealed that his cousin “Mac” is in fact the rightful heir, he is pleased to be free to pursue his own interests.  He forms a quick friendship with his worldly cousin who is breath of fresh air in the uptight family.  He instantly recognizes the chemistry between Mac and Stephanie, taking the necessary steps to play matchmaker to the unlikely couple.

Maggie McAlistair Ainsley, mother of ‘Mac’.  She met and fell in love with the dashing David Ainsley as a college student.  The Ainsley’s frowned upon his relationship with the free spirited Scottish commoner and attempted to block their marriage.  Following the death of her husband, she went to elaborate measures to ensure that the Earl would not attempt to take custody of her son.  Following a bitter parting, she has spent years defaming the aristocrat who she blamed for the sorrow David felt prior to his accident

Edward Oldman, Former MI6 agent and security expert.  Hired by Lord Ainsley to accompany Stephanie during her trip to Glasgow.

Jacqueline "Jackie" Fraser, the spunky detective hired by Lord Ainsley to obtain information about Mac's life.  She is the mother of Jeremy who assists her during the investigation.

Jeremy Fraser, the teenage son of Jackie Fraser.  He works as jack of all trades at his mother's detective agency. It was during one of his surveilliance operations that he incurred the wrath of Mac Ainsley.

Angus, Mac's fun loving friend from the Bent Thistle Pub.  Towering over most Scots at 6' 10", Angus cuts an imposing figure where ever he appears.  He and Mac are childhood friends who have had more than their share of scraps with other gentleman at the lively pub and throughout Glasgow.
