Bedford QL(C) Gun Portee and 6 pdr A/tk gun (1/35th)

These don't seem to appear to often for sale. Used in Egyptian/North African campaign from mid 1942 onwards these vehicles were specifically designed to allow for the gun to be fired to the front or the rear of the load bed, a capability that had been recognised due to battle experiences of Anti tank regiments fighting in the desert in the years previously (3RHA's combat at Sidi Rezegh would be a rather good illustration of this).

I really enjoyed building this kit and went to town on the faded and worn paint effects, as you can see from the pictures. The gun can be mounted in the rear of the portee facing forwards or towed (as was in fact the norm post El-Alamein). Markings are for 65th A/tk regiment.

There is a base available if required.

Any questions? Drop me a line.

SOLD

M-551 'Sheridan' (1/35th)

Lightly modified around the front drivers area of the hull as it was too narrow in width in the kit.

Restrained weathering this time as opposed to what I normally do with my 'Nam' projects!

Any questions? Drop me a line.

AS42 'SAHARIANA'

Historica Resin AS42 with 47mm A/Tk gun

1/35th scale

This vehicle was deployed into Libya during 1942, and they were rather successful in the long range reconnaissance role (similar to the British LRDG). Later in Tunisia these were used by Arditi assault units to raid behind Allied lines.

This is built pretty much out of the box, nicely detailed and has the large ‘balloon’ type desert tyres.

Finished in North African colours, and suitably weathered, as befits a vehicle used in the theatre, with pastels and oil paints.

The paratrooper figures are the ‘observation group’ by Model Victoria.

This diorama was the subject of an article in Military Modelcraft International magazine in the April 2003 edition.

Available as a diorama or without, happy to remove figures etc. and send with the vehicle if you don’t want the base (NOTE – Shipping will be more expensive for the diorama due to its weight, please consider this point before bidding, please contact me for details if this is the case).

GMC 40mm Guntruck (Indochina)

These vehicles were modifications of the Light AA trucks used by the French 22nd Colonial group. After the end of WW2 this formation was dispatched to their colony, French Indochina to assist with return of French rule. Armour was added to protect crews from the many ambushes laid by Nationalist guerrillas, this rendered the vehicles less able to travel off road due to the increase in weight.

This is a conversion of the Tamiya GMC plastic kit using the resin Masters models 40mm Bofors set and a scratchbuilt armoured body.

The vehicle has been weathered in the manner befitting a vehicle operated in this theatre, the mud and dust in areas of Vietnam has a characteristic red colour, using oil paints and pastels.

The figure is a conversion on a Warriors item, the trees and plants are scratchbuilt.

This diorama was the subject of an article in Scale Models International magazine in the June 2006 edition.

Available as a diorama or without, happy to remove figures, trees etc. and send with the vehicle if you don’t want the base (NOTE – Shipping will be more expensive for the diorama due to its weight, please consider this point before bidding, please contact me for details if this is the case).
