Welcome To the Adirondack Horse Club, My Name is Liza, In the picture below is myself and one of my little cowboys, We are taking a break from a very hot day at work in Georgia about 2 years ago at one of my jobs as a trail guide. http://www.dillardhousestables.com absolutely great place for a vacation.
My family and I currently reside in Hopkinton, New York. We moved back home to the North Country after spending a few years in North Carolina, There I worked on a Appaloosa breeding farm for a few years, I have to give Great Thanks to my boss Sandy who totally showed me almost everything I know about horses and the Proper way to do things. When she and her husband come to visit I will have her as a speaker :-) if she is up to it.
These were show horses and took a great deal of care, It was all done at the farm, breeding, foaling ,training etc... My family can tell you I all but moved into that farm, My teenagers,My husband and my little ones all worked there with me at one time or another and soon found out it was a great deal of work, My husband was the only one that lasted and worked the weekends with me aside from his regular job with little ones in tow. (The farm has since sold all but a few horses) Grandma Bowles will be greatly missed but she did teach me how to make her Celery soup and Cornbread.
When I moved back I was absolutely amazed at the amount of horses that were around, What a beautiful sight. The love I have for horses and years of compilating knowledge is where my idea came to start a horse club, Also giving people someone to call on when they just aren't sure whether to call on the Veterinarian. SOOOOOOO......
If you have a love for horses this is the club for you, from grooming to showing we will cover all topics, hey, you need a permit before you can drive so why not learn before you buy.
Guest speakers will be booked once a month,
Whether you have ever or always had an interest/love for horses come and join.
Maybe you have been thinking of buying one for yourself or child, Before you make the big decision see what is involved in owning a horse. Remember we are all here to help each other insure a healthy happy relationship between horse and owner.
