This was the name of my first favourite Snoopy picture book by Charles M Schulz, starring all my favourite PEANUTS characters

It delivered a very simple message of love using few words :

that the simplest things in life brought the greatest happiness.

In this column I will pen my version of what simplest things in my life make me happiest.

When I rewrote the page in my webby called Ader's Family, it suddenly struck me how important my family means to me. I guess happiness is really... having them by my side in good health & happiness...

This quote came to my mind when I was cutting my toenails before bedtime & recalled how I regularly do this little act of piety for my Dad. My dad can't bend over to cut his own toenails & his nails are terribly thick (like an elephant's!!) so normally I do it for him. That's why he raised me to be totally fearless of the gross. Yesh~ I'm the kind that can still enjoy my dinner even if I have someone who has puked on me or if TV or the movie is screening something absolutely gory or gross. I'm also the strange kind who gets a great appetite when violent scenes hit the screen. Nope, I'm not perverted lah! It's just that sometimes I think maybe the simplest things like cutting your dad's toenails is a wonderful thing. I'm happy when I do it, & even happier when I see him smiling while I do it for him. When I grow old, I hope my daughter or son would cut my toenails for me too, even if it meant they're doing it because I can no longer bend over and do it on my own. That would make me sooooo happy.

A simple message in a song from him to me... warm & forward... bringing a smile to my face. (^_^) 

It could be sharing that steak with your partner, that bowl of noodles with your best friend, or that plate of fruits with a table of close friends. Breaking bread with people who walk into your life & sit at your table to share that moment of their lives with you, is a fortunate luxury.

They might be very physically far away, and you might not be able to see them everyday nor talk to them all the time. but you know you'll be constantly in their thoughts... and them in yours.
