Poetry published in a university magazine, a couple of children's stories published in children's magazines, plus articles for Humane Society Magazines, in-house articles for business management training, and factual information pamphlets for veterinarians. Some of my animal behavior writing on ducks and waterfowl has been used in lower school grades, and two humor pieces were published in a county magazine. Two books currently released: "The Legends of Nevermore County" (eight short stories) and "All About Eve and Other Things" (essays and poetry). Now available worldwide!

Rural life has never been depicted better. People coming together and a Mother Goody to keep things right and proper. I truly enjoyed this book and hope there will be a sequal.

If I didn't know better I would say I visited Nevermore County in another lifetime! The characters are so real and truly human they stick in your mind, and might live just over there around any backwoods bend in the county road you travel. And having a Mother Goody in my neighbor could solve a lot of problems...

I rode my Nightmare (Poetry) - 4/11/2007 8:14:13 PM
I love the image of riding a nightmare. I've been reading online articles about dreams, and some theorize that we are able to control them. I just finished a dream poem and now am starting an acrostic poem, Nightmare, and was googling for ideas. That's how I came to yours. I like your poem the way it is, but I can also see lots of potential. Here's an idea: take your nightmare on a journey--where are you going? You could even do a series. Best Wishes! Patrice

Very interesting thought you conjure up here. Who actually is the idiot? If the others hear a beat of nonexistent music what does that say about the power of suggestion on weak minds? Reminds in a much more poetic way of the old Emperor's New Clothes story. I enjoyed your poem.

Cleanliness in next to Godliness! I remember my mother telling me that. This protagonist you have conjurred, this holy one, although seemingly enlightened, has forgotten the more basic of human requirements it would seem. This one made me chuckle ... Richard Lloyd Cederberg

Is real?

The Legends of Nevermore County is a collection of fantastic and wonderful stories that are just real enough to make us wonder. Could there be a forgotten corner of some remote County in America where cows are a little bit smarter and there is a touch of the supernatural, just enough to make life better. The Europeans have written of fairies and dragons for centuries, could settlers to America have found the same “otherworldly” entities here? Ms Bradford makes Nevermore County just that believable, or is real?

The Legends of Nevermore County - - - After reading these fantasy stories, I started again. These intricate fables remind me of a time gone by, makes one a little bit sad bur still thought-provoking. I hope there are more of these stories coming. This is great!

Everything we think, but are afraid to talk about.

All about Eve and Other Things is an inspired collection of all the thoughts we all have, but are afraid to talk about in public. These stories and poems are humorous and entertaining on one level and thought provoking on another. I enjoyed every moment spent with this book. All About Eve and Other Things is one of my books that do not gather dust on the shelf. It is the little green book that wants to continually share its ideas.

Seriously funny and thoughful, January 12, 2006

All about Eve and Other Things - - - It was great fun reading this book. I have seldom seen essays and poetry mixed so appropriately and the subjects covered are unique and present a wonderful variety. Especially the essays on "All about Eve" and "Penis Envy" deserve a re-read. And if the concluding article on "Once I met a King - A True Vignette" doesn't touch you, you need help! This book will make a great present to many of my friends.

Adelle Bradford is a true word artist, with the ability to paint vivid, clear, and distinct pictures on the canvas of our minds. In "All About Eve and Other Things" Adelle uses these illustrations to stretch our minds and make us think about things as we peer through lenses, ground with clever wit and hard facts, that correct for the stigmatism of life's influences. The moment I set this book down, I took a deep cleansing breath; rose; took a step; performed a classic double take and swiftly moved to pick it up again. Ms. Bradford's writing is truly a waft of fresh new air, in a world desperate for new perspectives.

All about Eve and Other Things - - - This author has put together many points of view with heartfelt humor and insight. The poetry is a rich kaleidoscope of experiences, happy and sad. The article named "All about Eve" (...) is great and there are some very fine onservations being made. A story from Germany "Once I met a King - A True Vignette", is a real experience, even from here.

The Legends of Nevermore County - - - A bit of magic in a real world - well, almost - which reminds one of the "olden" days. Could have been - and could be. Do you remember? I found the "Nevermore County Gazette" using Google; the people of Nevermore County certainly have their own opinions of this author, and not very complimentary at that! The secrets are out but not yet well-known. That certainly calls for a cautionary note to Ms. Bradford if she, indeed, intents to re-visit there for sequel-material. Beware!

The Legends of Nevermore County - - - This is a fantastic collection of stories that shed light on some of the everyday and not-so-everyday ocurrances you'll find if you just look that little bit closer into the small communities off the beaten track. The tales are carefully and beautifully told and just enticing enough to make you believe in magic. Can heartily recommend for curious young minds looking for adventures - and old minds that have refused to grow up!

The Legends of Nevermore County - - -Enticing short stories in the Fantasy realm. Sounds like a place I know and would like to return to. Ms. Bradford does a fine job creating her characters. They take on a life of their own as is demonstrated on the website of The Nevermore County Gazette. "Summer's Island" sounds like a movie in the making. Are there sequels in the works, I hope?

"The Legends Of Nevermore County" is trip to a secret place not so far away. In fact it is strangely familiar. There are deep secrets, hidden agendas, dark and light happenings all seemingly connected to mist, a tree, and a mountain. We start with a natural disaster understood by cows but no one else, that ends in the strange transformation of many creatures. We are introduced to a woman who longs for travel, but waits at home the rest of her life for her ride to arrive. Young Klee, who falls in love with a tree. We sit on the floor watching TV eating Mrs. Winston's wonderful doughnuts. We run into Mother Goody a healer and herbalist that we all wish we had living in our neighborhood. The mysterious Rainbow Weavers live here in Neever's Knob beside the river, grazing their sheep in the surrounding highlands, and exercising their strange weaving rituals. There is the story of a young boy and his coming of age, I reflected on my own personal experiences while looking through his young eyes. Then there is the magic honey from Summer Island that can cure most any ailment, and the secrets of the women who harvest it.

This part of Nevermore County, connected solely to the rest of the world by two small bridges across the Noname River, is a magical place, almost like the "Waltons" placed in the "Twilight Zone". But Ms. Bradford makes us believe, as she reports on the secret lives and experiences of the families who have lived there for generations. She has managed to bring me back to the child watching TV on a Sunday night. Mary Martin as Peter Pan was pleading with me to believe in fairies to save poor Tinkerbelle's life from Hook's poison. Right then, as I clapped my hands until they hurt, I believed, as I have never believed before. Adelle, I believe in Nevermore County and want to read more.
