Greenest Island B&B
Ada-Ben Weeks House is the first wind-powered Bed and Breakfast on Prince Edward Island. Our Windmill was installed late last year and became operational on December 11 of 2008. 
All lights, wireless computer access, hairdryers, coffee makers, cooking, etc are powered by wind. All hot water for bathing, cleaning, and laundry is powered by the wind turbine in our back yard. We do not compromise sanitation by using cold water for your sheets and towels. Anything that touches your person is sanitized in hot water by wind power and then dried in a commercial electric dryer powered by wind. Totally green! Imagine that! Here are some photos of our wind turbine in action. We are very proud to be the pioneers in the wind turbine industry for B&B's and hope more B&B's will follow!
All cleaning products, laundry detergent, fabric softeners, and dish detergent are environmentall friendly.
We recycle almost all of our trash, using compost bins for biodegradables, blue recycling bags for cans, glass, and plastic. And bundling newspapers for recycling. You would be amazed at how little garbage from our B&B actually goes to the landfill. Please help us in keeping the Island Green and Pristine! Recycle!
