This site has been set up by a group of friends who share a love of English folk traditions, including song, music and dance. We live in a predominantly rural part of west Gloucestershire, where many of the traditions now familiar world-wide (Morris dancing, folk dances, well-known tunes and songs) were originally collected from the informal performances of ameteur musicians - ordinary folk - for whom music making was part of their lives.
