Q. What methods of payment do you accept?

A. You can pay by cash or cheque (with a guarantee card) at the time of treatment. Unfortunately payments by debit or credit card are not currently accepted.

Q.  When can I make an appointment for?

A. Appointments are available most evenings and at weekends. Please call or e-mail to discuss your requirements and/or to make an appointment.

If you have had a particularly stressful or difficult day at the office then please telephone as soon as you can and it may be possible for you to be seen the same evening.

Q. Do I have to undress?

A. Indian Head Massage is performed with the client fully clothed and seated on a chair. However in order to
get the maximum benefit from the treatment you should wear light, loose and comfortable clothing - a cotton top/t-shirt is ideal.

Similarly Thermal Auricular Therapy (Ear Candling) and Reiki are also performed with the client fully clothed, lying on a couch, so only shoes need be removed.

If you are having a Full Body Massage or a Back Massage, then you will be required to undress, although underpants / pants should be kept on. Your modesty will of course be preserved throughout the treatment.

For all treatments you will be asked to remove any earrings and neck jewellery prior to treatment. It is also preferable that face makeup is removed and that hair is free of styling products.

Q. Do I need to provide anything if I have treatment in my home?

A. No - you do not need to provide anything. The therapist will bring everything they need with them. All you need to do is to ensure that you have a downstairs room which is large enough to accommodate either a chair or a couch, depending on the treatment you chose, a small table and enough space around the equipment for the therapist to move freely. The room must also be warm enough to be comfortable for you. Usually a lounge will be of the appropriate size to carry out a treatment in.

Q. I have an illness/condition, can I still have treatment?

A. Most people can have an Indian Head Massage, Body Massage or Hopi Ear Candle Treatment, although there are some illnesses/conditions where it is not possible for the client to receive treatment. If you have a particular condition or illness, and would like a treatment, then please use the enquiry form stating details of your condition and a therapist will advise you whether or not your condition precludes you from receiving treatment. In some circumstances, it will be necessary for you to gain written permission from you doctor prior to receiving treatment. A full consultation will take place with you prior to receiving any treatment in order to establish your suitabililty to receive the treatment of your choice. However so that you are not disappointed on the day of your treatment it is advisable to inform your therapist at the time of enquiry or booking if you have any condition, however minor and your therapist will confirm whether or not you may receive treatment.

Q. How often should I have treatment?

A. In an ideal world, if the client can afford it, massage should ideally be carried out once or even twice a week for maximum benefit. Each person however is different, and the number of treatments needed depends on the individual and this will be discussed as part of the treatment plan.  On average, a course of 4 to 6 treatments should suffice and it is recommended that these treatments are taken as close together as possible. The client may of course then wish to continue receiving treatment on a regular basis, perhaps monthly or fortnightly.

With Hopi Ear Candling, one treatment may be enough, for example, a single treatment prior to a flight. Usually a course of three treatments is recommended. The frequency of the treatments can vary from a number of days apart to several weeks / months apart depending on the outcome of the first treatment. Yout therapist will discuss this with you at the time of treatment.

Q. Are oils used in the treatments?

A. A small amount of oil would normally be used when carrying out the scalp massage during an Indian Head Massage, unless the client requests otherwise. In both Indian Head Massage and Thermal Auricular therapy, a facial massage is included and again oils or creams would normally be used, unless the client requests otherwise.  Body Massage will also involve the use of oils.  The client will be able to chose from a selection of oils. Massage cream is also available should the client prefer this. Please be aware that clothing may become stained by oils and creams.

Q. Do you treat men?

A.  Men are also treated on a mobile basis, but only on recommendation from an existing client, or a female partner or friend of the man wishing to book the appointment.  It is however a requirement, that a female is present in the client's house at the time of treatment.
