The Difference between the March on Washington and the P.P.C.

About the P.P.C.

The P.P.C. was organized by Martin Luther King Jr.in 1968 because he felt that economics should be addressed as a national issue.Sadly, King died 3 weeks before the P.P.C. actually happened. Even though he was dead, different ethnic groups came together and built a city in Washington D.C. called 'Resurrection City'. They formed a list of demands so that they wouldn't be left out of the "American Dream."

1. A meaningful job at a living wage for every employable citizen.

2. A secure and adequate income for all who cannot find jobs or for whom employment is inappropriate.

3.To gain access to land as a means to income and livelihood.

4. Access to capital as a means of full participation in the economic life of America.

5. Recognition by law of the right of people affected by government programs to play a truly significant role to determine how they are designed and carried out.
6. Dental and Medical Benefits for all americans
7. Eliminating the discrimination against minority groups from the law enforcement and judicial system.
